Moataz Matar, Host on Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood TV on Syria Strike: Trump Has Given Al-Assad Another Kiss of Life

Egyptian TV host Moataz Matar mocked "puppeteer" Trump, who, he claimed, had received billions of dollars from the Gulf "as payment for the hour-long military demonstration." "Bashar is one of those who benefit the most," said Matar, in an address on the Turkey-based Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Al-Sharq TV channel on April 14, following the missile attack against Syrian targets launched by the U.S., Britain, and France. "America laid siege to the rebels, and prevented them from obtaining quality weapons, in collaboration with Iran, Russia, and Bashar. It prevented the fall of Bashar. And today, the U.S. has given Bashar another kiss of life," he said.

Following is a transcript:

Moataz Matar: Trump received billions of dollars from the Gulf, as payment for the hour-long military demonstration that he launched against Bashar’s Syria. Trump performed this show as if fulfilling his promise to attack, because otherwise nobody would believe America ever again if it said it would attack. This puppeteer did all that on the date of the Prophet’s nocturnal journey and ascent to Heaven, and on the eve of the Arab summit, which will convene in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, because the Arab leaders fear that the Houthi missiles would hit them if they met in Riyadh.

Bashar is one of those who benefit the most. What does a bloodshedder need more than a pseudo-show or a pseudo-attack, which he will land while in his hideout, only to emerge when it is all over and declare: “I am a hero! I will never bow down to the aggressor! The attack will not divert us from fighting terrorism!”

Some people say that the U.S. is attacking Al-Assad. They say: “Oh Allah, pit the oppressors one against the other!” America laid siege to the rebels, and prevented them from obtaining quality weapons, in collaboration with Iran, Russia, and Bashar. It prevented the fall of Bashar. And today, the U.S. has given Bashar another kiss of life.
