Egyptian TV host Azmy Megahed compared the new Suez Canal project to the building of the pyramids. In the August 4 episode of his show, Megahed said that the Muslim Brotherhood members who deny the magnitude of the project should come to be drowned in the new canal, in order to see how deep it is.
Following is an excerpt:
Azmy Megahed: I went over to the Suez Canal. By Allah, I did not expect the magnitude of this project. I could not believe what I saw. I said in a previous show that this is the equivalent to the building of the pyramids, and our "remote brothers" [the MB] started attacking me. I swear by Allah that this project is not inferior to the building of the pyramids. It is not inferior to the victory in the 1973 war, and the crossing of the Suez Canal. Anyone who says that this is a mere irrigation channel should come so that we can down him in it to show him how deep it is. We would grab him and drown him in it, in order to show him how deep it is.
