Egyptian Cleric Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal Criticizes Shiites and States: Iran's Nuclear Weapons Production Directed against Sunnis, Not Israel

Source: Al-Nas TV (Egypt)

Following are excerpts from a TV program hosted by Egyptian cleric Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal, which aired on Al-Nas TV on December 25, 2008.

Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal: I say for the thousandth time: The Shiites are one thing, and the Sunnis are another thing. This should not make my opponents say that I am causing discord. It is you who are causing discord. Haven't you heard what the Shiites are doing in Iraq? Haven't you heard what the Shiites are doing in Lebanon? And in Afghanistan? They are the ones who enabled the West – those non-Arab rulers – to overcome the Islamic and Arab countries, and "have made the most noble of them lowly. This is their way" in these countries, and elsewhere – and it will not end there. The ambitions of the Shiites regarding the Arab countries are much greater than the ambitions of the Jews and the West.

The production of nuclear weapons in Iran is directed only against the Sunnis in the region. It is absolutely inconceivable that a Shiite would direct his weapon against Europe or Israel, because they are two sides of the same coin.

[…]

The real enemy of them all are the Sunnis.

The Prophet Muhammad said: "Were it not for the Israelites, meat would never rot." It would never become putrid. Before Allah created the Israelites, people would not store food. A person would eat, and would give what was left to his neighbor. Humanity did not know such a thing as leftovers. They had a kind of solidarity that we lack. Anyone who had food left would give it to his neighbor, to his brother, to his friend, to whoever. When Allah created the Israelites, the most contemptible of whom are the Jews – may Allah punish them as they deserve... The Jews were first to store food. They would store it until it became putrid, but wouldn't give it to anyone. Stinginess and putrefaction are inherent in the Jews. They are putrid, rotten, and filthy.
