D.C.-Based Political Analyst Mohammad Oweis: Most U.S. Police "Got Used to Killing" Serving in the National Guard in Afghanistan, Iraq, or Syria

Interviewed on Russia Today TV, D.C.-based political analyst Mohammad Oweis said that he predicted that the "flaw in the American system," directed against Mexicans and blacks, would be turned against Muslims as well. "Most of the members in the police force are former members of the National Guard, who served in Afghanistan, Iraq, and even in Syria, where they got used to killing," he said. The interview aired on July 8.

Mohammad Oweis: "There is a systematic flaw in the American system, and specifically in the American judicial system, which is directed against minorities such as Mexicans and blacks, and now I expect that it will be directed against Muslims as well. Anyone whose name is Muhammad, Abdallah, Mahmoud, or Ahmad could be killed under the pretext of being a potential terrorist, not even a terrorist.

"It is possible that the flaw lies in the society. But the state of society stems from the fact that the U.S. government did not empower [minorities]. It did not build factories for them, and it did not give them what it gave the whites in this country, so that they could grow with the American society..."

Host: "So things will remain the same in America?"

Mohammad Oweis: "Yes, and they will get even worse, because if Trump wins the elections, he will exclude the Muslims and the Latinos, especially the Mexicans, from the American social structure."

Host: "Let's talk about another cause for what is going on in the U.S. today. Many are saying that one of the main causes for all of the problems and conflicts between the police and the American citizens is the militarization of the U.S. police after wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many of the weapons that were returned to the U.S. were distributed to the police, leading to its militarization, to a great extent."

Mohammad Oweis: "Your question is a very important one, but we also have to add that most of the members in the police force are former members of the National Guard, who served in Afghanistan, Iraq, and even in Syria, where they got used to killing."
