During his August 2, 2024 Friday sermon at Masjidul Quds in Cape Town, South Africa, Abduragman Alexander lauded assassinated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, as a "glorious martyr." He said that the "garden of Islam will be watered by the blood of the martyrs." Alexander prayed: "May Allah liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine in its entirety from the filth of the Jews." The Friday sermon was streamed live on the YouTube channel of Masjidul Quds.
Abduragman Alexander: "The world woke up with the tragic news of the murderous assassination of the honorable Sheikh Ismail Haniyeh – may Allah have mercy on his soul, by the Zionist regime. Now, we know as Muslims, from the very inception of the Prophetic mission of Muhammad, it became very clear that the garden of Islam will be watered by the blood of the martyrs.
