Anti-American Demonstration in Damascus, Syria

#374 | 01:45
Source: Al-Alam Network (Iran)

The following are excerpts from an anti-American demonstration that was held in Damascus, Syria. The report is by the Iranian channel, Al-'Alam:

Reporter: The bleeding Iraqi wound, especially in the city of Falluja, was the main trigger for this sit-in strike. Nevertheless, the strikers expressed their anger with the interim Iraqi government and the Arab silence in light of what happens in Falluja.

Demonstrators: Allawi, you coward!

Allawi, you coward!

You American collaborator!

You American collaborator!

Reporter: The sit-in strike that was organized by the committees of the coalition for the support of Iraq in Syria has soon become a loud demonstration against the American occupation of Iraq and against the massacres carried out by the lethal military machine against the Iraqi people in several places. The demonstrators did not miss the opportunity to express their rage at the Arab regimes. They called to break this silence in words as well as in deeds.

Demonstrator: The Arab regimes participate in these crimes, at times by collaboration and at times by silence. They hasten to serve the US and compete to shake hands with the US leaders.

Reporter: The demonstrators read a communique that described the crimes committed by the American occupation as genocide. The communique further said that silence means collaboration and cooperation.

Rajaa Al-Nasser, Chairman, Coalition of Committees for Support of the Iraqi People: We declare that we stand united against American imperialism and colonialism, and we support the resistance, without which Imperialism will never get out.
