Former Jordanian Minister And Senator Adnan Abu-Odeh: I Advise The Palestinians To Replace Their Leadership, Which Has Turned Into A Money-Seeking Corporation

Former Jordanian minister and senator Adnan Abu-Odeh said that the "failed" Palestinian leadership must be replaced on a Yarmouk TV (Jordan) show that aired on January 17, 2021. He said that the Palestinian leadership turned Fatah into the Palestinian Authority, following which they started to gain profit, and the PA became a corporation. He stated that the Palestinian leaders are after money. Abu-Odeh asked how he can advise such "sick" people and said that they cannot be cured by the Pfizer or the Chinese vaccine. He said that he can only advise the Palestinian people to replace them with a new leadership that will learn from the "filthy mistakes" of the past. Adnan Abu-Odeh, who is a Palestinian-Jordanian, served as Jordan's permanent representative to the United Nations, as well as minister of information and political advisor to King Hussein. He was a senior fellow at the United States Institute of Peace in 1995-96, and he is currently a political advisor to King Abdullah.

Senator Adnan Abu-Odeh: "I do not support the [Palestinian] leaders, who have failed. These leaders have failed twice – as rebels and as politicians. Pay attention to what I'm saying. Yasser Arafat and his cronies claimed to be rebels. That was until 1967. After 1967, when they saw that three Arab countries were defeated in six days, they realized that they could not liberate Palestine. So, they turned into politicians. People don't know this but I do.

"After 1967, Yasser Arafat was a politician. He was no longer a revolution leader. Arafat became a politician, and he was successful at that. The Jordanian disengagement from the West Bank is a testament to his success. This political success was attributed to Yasser Arafat. But he did not know what to do with this political success. Where did it take him? To the Oslo Accords. He recognized Israel and in exchange Israel recognized the PLO. The PLO was just an organization.

"I refuse to give advice to people who are failures. There is no point. They are no good. Then they started to gain profit when Fatah formed the Palestinian Authority on its own. It turned into a corporation. They are people who want money. They want to keep the money close and take their own salaries [first], because they are leaders and the rulers... How can I give advice to such people? I know they are totally sick. Neither Pfizer nor the Chinese vaccine can cure them. They are damaged people. I have no advice for these people. My only advice is to replace them. I advise the Palestinian people to work to replace them. The Palestinian people need new leaders, who will learn the lesson from all the filthy mistakes of the past, which have gotten us to where we are."
