In an interview with Sky News Arabia (UAE) on November 11, 2024, Iranian political analyst Emad Abshenas discussed Iran's nuclear capabilities. He stated that intelligence reports show Iran is currently capable of producing not just one or two nuclear bombs, but dozens, and could potentially enrich uranium to weapon-grade levels of 90%, if the political decision is made to do so. Abshenas also emphasized that Iran has no interest in assassinating President Trump, suggesting instead that other entities—such as Ukraine, members of the Democratic Party, and Israel—may have greater motivations.

Emad Abshenas: "Iran's nuclear doctrine is based on the following principle: At most, Iran may proceed to a point where it will have the capability to produce a nuclear bomb, without actually manufacturing this weapon. Currently, Iran is capable of producing nuclear weapons—not just a bomb or two, but dozens of them, according to intelligence reports.

"Iran has not enriched uranium to [weapon-grade] 90% percent, but if the political decision is made, it can do so. Iran does not want it. There is no political decision about this.

"Iran has no interest in assassinating Trump. Ukraine, members of the Democratic Party in the U.S., and Israel have better reasons for assassinating Trump than Iran does. Iran has no reason to assassinate him. It will not benefit from this."

Interviewer: "How can you say Iran has no reason? The sanctions are suffocating Iran's economy. You need to get rid of these sanctions."

Abshenas: "True, but Biden did not lift the sanctions on Iran either."
