MEMRI Daily Brief No. 75

Today, MEMRI is announcing the launch of the official Twitter account of its Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM) - http://www.twitter.com/memrijttm

The MEMRI JTTM Twitter account will provide framework and context for the large volume of already existing information about global jihad, based on the knowledge and expertise of the JTTM research team that has been monitoring the jihad arena and developments in it around the clock, seven days a week, for nearly two decades.

The MEMRI JTTM Twitter account will offer a look into the closed, subscription-only JTTM, which identifies, monitors, translates, researches, and analyzes the activity and threats of jihad and terrorist organizations and of their supporters in the Arab and Muslim world as well as in the West. The JTTM conducts 24/7 monitoring of the online activity of these organizations, on password-protected forums, websites, and open and encrypted social networks, and in numerous languages - from Arabic, Farsi, Turkish, Urdu, Pashtu and Uyghur to major Western languages.

Tweets by the MEMRI JTTM will share links to the numerous reports published daily on the closed JTTM website, and to analyses by the JTTM research team members. They will also share MEMRI reports, MEMRI TV clips, and reports from the MEMRI South Asia Studies Project (SASP) concerning jihad and terrorism in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India.

The MEMRI JTTM Twitter account will share high-quality, valuable information from the JTTM's extensive database. This database is the product of almost 20 years of ongoing monitoring of jihadi mouthpieces and of the various media in the Arab and Muslim world, both establishment and independent, and in a wide range of languages, and including print and online media, websites, television and radio, forums, and social networks.
