Libyan State TV Reports on Weapons Training Course for Women of All Ages

Following are excerpts from a TV report on weapons training for women in Libya. The report aired on Al-Libiya TV on July 13, 2011.

Young Libyan woman: "We, the free and honorable women of Libya, from the Hannibal-Carthage Brigade, the free women of Tawagha, will confront the enemy, for the sake of our beloved Libya and Commander Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi. We are here today to train with weapons in order to fight in defense of our beloved, glorious, and honorable Libya." […]

Group of Libyan women: "Allah, Mu'ammar, Libya, and that's it.

"Allah Mu'ammar, Libya, and that's it.

"We shall die in the battlefield for the sake of he who cares for women.

"Allah Mu'ammar, Libya, and that's it.

"We shall die in the battlefield for the sake of he who cares for women.

"Allah, Mu'ammar, Libya, and that's it. Allah, Mu'ammar, Libya, and that's it." […]

Female Libyan soldier: "We are members of the legion named after the martyr Mastoura, the daughter of Dr. 'Aisha Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi.

"Today, July 11, 2011, is the graduation of the first class of our legion. It is composed of three groups for training with weapons. Altogether, there are about 165 participants. Allah be praised, the course was a success. The participants are of a wide range of ages – from 18-year-olds to the elderly – and they all proved to be eligible.

"From here, we declare to the entire world that we are prepared to defend our commander and our symbol – Colonel Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi – and our beloved country." […]
