On March 27, 2022, ISIS official media claimed responsibility for a terrorist attack that day in Hadera, Israel. In a statement released on Telegram, ISIS official media identified the perpetrators as "Ayman and Khalid Ighbariyeh."

In the evening of March 27, 2022, two ISIS supporters carried out a shooting attack in the Israeli town of Hadera, killing two Israelis and injuring several others. A few hours later, a video from the Facebook page of one of the attackers began spreading on social media.

On March 22, 2022, Muhammad Abu Al-Qi'an perpetrated a car-ramming and stabbing attack against passersby in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba. Al-Qi'an, a Bedouin resident of southern Israel, had served time for his support of the Islamic State (ISIS) and his intention to travel to Syria to join the organization.

ISIS Newsletter Pays Homage To New ISIS Province In The Sahel

On March 24, 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) released issue 331 of its weekly newsletter, Al-Naba'. The issue notably paid homage to the newly created wilayat Sahel, or Sahel province, dedicating an article and infographic to documenting the province's recent operations in Mali.

 

ISIS In West Africa Claims Martyrdom Operation With 10 Nigerian Army Casualties, Publishes Name And Photo Of Perpetrator

On March 23, 2022, the Islamic State in West Africa (ISWAP) released a statement claiming that its fighters killed and wounded at least ten Nigerian soldiers and destroyed and immobilized several vehicles in clashes in Borno State.

 

ISIS Sinai Claims Responsibility For Five Attacks In One Week; Deaths Of At Least Seven Egyptian Army Soldiers And Members Of Supporting Militias

During the last week of March 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) Sinai Province claimed responsibility for five operations in the northern Sinai Peninsula that reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least seven members of the Egyptian Army and of militias loyal to it.

 

ISIS In Sinai Releases Video Of Fighters Pledging Allegiance To New Caliph, Calling On Muslims Everywhere To Follow Suit

On March 24, 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) in Sinai released a video featuring dozens of fighters pledging allegiance to the newly-appointed ISIS caliph Abu Al-Hassan Al-Hashimi Al-Qurashi and urging Muslims around the world to join the mujahideen and wage jihad for the sake of Allah.

 

Nephew Of Hamas Leader Who Allegedly Joined ISIS In Sinai, Reportedly Killed By Egyptian Army

On March 25, 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) Sinai Province released a poster in commemoration of a fighter, as part of its "Caravan of the Shuhada' [Martyrs]" poster series. The poster consists of a photograph of the operative and his "nom de guerre" and no additional information pertaining to his identity.

 

ISIS Operatives, Pro-ISIS Media Outlets Present United Front With Oaths Of Allegiance To New ISIS Leader

On March 10, the official ISIS outlet released a 12-minute audio message from the organization's new spokesman, Abu 'Umar Al-Muhajir, confirming that Abu Ibrahim Al-Hashemi and the previous ISIS spokesman, Abu Hamzah Al-Qurashi, had been killed "in recent days," and that the organization's Shura Council had speedily appointed Abu Al-Hasan Al-Hashemi Al-Qurashi to succeed Abu Ibrahim Al-Hashemi Al-Qurashi, based on the latter's instructions.

On March 29, 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed that a fighter detonated a suicide car bomb targeting Nigerian military forces who were trying to advance toward ISIS outposts in Borno state, Nigeria on March 28, 2022.

On March 22, 2022, a user of the Islamic State (ISIS) operated Rocket.Chat server posted that the server on the messaging app Element run by a prominent pro-ISIS media group had been hacked.

 

Al-Qaeda In the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) Eulogizes Member Believed To Be Top Military Official

On March 15, 2022, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) released a statement eulogizing a man who is believed to have been the group's military commander.

 

Al-Qaeda In The Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) Says Veteran Fighters Have Been Arrested, Killed In Algerian Military Operation

On March 29, 2022 the media outlet of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) announced that several veteran AQIM fighters were arrested or killed in an operation of the Algerian armed forces in eastern Algeria. The statement also called on young Muslims to join the jihad.

 

Somali Al-Qaeda Affiliate Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen Claims Two Attacks Carried Out On Same Day In Two Different Cities Against Foreign Diplomats, Somali Officials

On March 23, 2022, the media outlet of the Somalia-based jihad group Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen reported that the group had carried out two large-scale attacks that day.

 

Pro-Al-Qaeda Ideologue Celebrates Attacks In Israel Claimed By ISIS, Expresses Hope That This Indicates ISIS Has Changed Its Priorities

On March 23, a Jordan-based jihadi ideologue who supports Al-Qaeda and opposes ISIS, posted a series of six tweets praising Beersheba, Israel attacker Abu Al-Qi'an, claiming that although he was an ISIS supporter, he was more moderate in his views than the organization's party line.

On March 22, 2022, pro-Al-Qaeda publisher Bayt Al-Maqdis released Issue 24 of its Ibnat Al-Islam ("Daughter of Islam") women's magazine. The 93-page issue, which is mostly in the Arabic-language, has English and French sections and an article about "Child Kidnapping in Sweden."

 

Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) Leader Visits Residents Of Idlib Governorate, Discusses Various Issues, Responds To Participants' Inquiries, Addresses Their Concerns

On March 24, 2022, the media arm of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) released a 21-minute video documenting the visit of its leader, Abu Muhammad Al-Joulani, to an event held by the residents of Idlib Governorate in northwestern Syria.

 

Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) In Northern Syria Releases Video Showing Daily Life Of Operatives, Exchanging Celebratory Greetings For Upcoming Ramadan

On March 28, 2022, the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) released an eight-minute video on its website, titled: "It Is These Who Hasten To Do Good Works [Quran 23:61]." The video depicts the daily lives of TIP fighters in northern Syria.

 

Ahead Of Ramadan And Lebanese Elections, Hizbullah-Affiliated Foundation Offers Loans To Individuals And Municipalities To Set Up Solar Energy Systems

On March 26, 2022, Lebanese Hizbullah mouthpiece Al Manar Television reported on its website that Al-Qard Al-Hassan ("Good Loan") Foundation, which is affiliated with Hizbullah, will be launching a solar energy project on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

 

Hizbullah In Lebanon Deployed Medium- And Long-Range Rocket Launchers This Month In Syria's Western Deir Al-Zour Countryside Capable Of Hitting U.S. Forces East Of The Euphrates

A pro-opposition website claimed on March 24, 2022, that Hizbullah in Lebanon has recently deployed new Iran-made rocket launchers on the west bank of the Euphrates, in order to respond to any violations by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) or Americans west of the river.

On March 20, 2022, a Syrian opposition website claimed that Lebanese Hizbullah (LH) has begun recruiting young men out of Homs, Syria, for the first time since the militant group intervened in the country's civil war.

 

Saudi TV Report: Despite Nasrallah's Denial, 800 Hizbullah Fighters Were Recruited to Fight in Ukraine Alongside Russian Forces

On March 24, 2022, a Saudi channel aired a report claiming that 800 operatives from Hizbullah will join the fighting in Ukraine alongside Russian forces.

 

Syrian Opposition Websites: Iran Upgrades Training For Militias It Supports In Syria

During the month of March 2022, several Syrian opposition websites reported that Iran was upgrading training for the militias it supports in Syria, and had recently begun to train their members in the operation of "quality weapons" – including medium- and short-range missiles and drones – and in tunnel warfare.

 

Supporters Of Iran-Backed Militias Burn Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Headquarters In Baghdad

On March 27, 2022, supporters of Iran-backed militias in Iraq set fire to the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) led by Massoud Barzani, in the center of the capital, Baghdad, to protest "offensive" remarks made by a Kurdish author who is close to the party, Nayef Al-Kurdistani, regarding the Iraq's top Shi'ite cleric Ali Al-Sistani.
