On March 12, 2021, the media arm of Al-Qaeda released a new video featuring audio of the group's leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, condemning the government in Myanmar for its treatment of the Rohingya minority and calling on the mujahideen to target the interests of Myanmar worldwide.
