On January 3, 2022, a Telegram channel supporting the Iran-backed Shi'ite militias in Iraq posted reports, allegedly quoted from "agencies" affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), which include threats to CENTCOM Commander Gen. Kenneth McKenzie.

On December 31, 2021, Iraqi news websites disclosed a memorandum from Baghdad Operations Command which states that there is "confirmed" intelligence about the intention of "elements outside the law" to attack the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

An article in the latest issue of Al-Qaeda magazine "Nawa-i-Ghazwa-e-Hind" calls on Muslim military personnel, especially those in the U.S., to follow the example of Muhammad Al-Shamrani, a second lieutenant in the Royal Saudi Air Force, who killed three men and injured eight in an attack at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Pensacola, Florida.

On January 4, 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) published photos showing its fighters burning a church and property of a Christian community in northeastern Nigeria.

On December 28, 2021, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) outlet released a 10-minute video titled, "O Lone Wolf: When Will You Wake Up?" The video urges ISIS supporters in Western countries to perpetrate lone wolf attacks during the current holiday season.

 

Indonesian Pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Media Outlet Continued To Threaten U.S., Coalition Countries, During Holiday Season

On December 31, 2021, an Indonesian pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media outlet released four new posters threatening the U.S. and the countries in the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS during the imminent New Year celebrations.

 

Slain ISIS Military And Media Operative In Somalia Profiled In ISIS Weekly

The most-recent issue of Al-Naba' (Issue 319), the official weekly magazine published by the Islamic State (ISIS), released on December 30, 2021, contains the biography of an ISIS media and military operative in Somalia.

 

ISIS Claims Attacks On Two Military Camps In The Philippines

On January 5, 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) issued a statement claiming that three days before, on January 2, its operatives killed three Filipino soldiers and wounded six others in attacks on two Philippine Army military camps.

 

Article In Issue 2 Of Urdu-Language ISIS Magazine Warns Supporters Of Democracy: 'The Islamic Caliphate Has Imprinted Its Claws On Your Necks And The Lion-Hearted Soldiers Of ISIS Are Sitting In Wait For Your Lapdogs In Every City Of Pakistan'

An article titled "The Time For Your Destruction has Come" argues that Pakistan is the door for "Ghazwa-e-Hind [Battle for India]."

 

Prolific Pro-ISIS Media Group Urges Followers To Join Media Team To Support 'Blessed Caliphate'

On December 28, 2021, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media group published a post on Telegram presenting the group's history and urging ISIS followers to join it media team.

 

Pro-ISIS British Preacher Anjem Choudary Launches Twitter Campaign Calling For Release Of Muslim Prisoner Munir Farooqi, Closure Of UK's Frankland Prison

On January 4, 2022, pro-Islamic State (ISIS) British preacher Anjem Choudary published a press release on his Telegram channel announcing the launch of a Twitter campaign to "raise awareness regarding oppression of manmade laws."

 

Myanmar Jihadi Group Which Pledged Allegiance To ISIS Publishes Book In English Describing Paradise, Encouraging Jihad And Martyrdom

On December 26, 2021, the media outlet of a Myanmar-based Rohingya jihadi group released a 60-page book in English which describes jihad and martyrdom as being among the best ways to attain Paradise.

On December 29, 2021, On the Ground News (OGN), a pro-jihad media outlet run from northern Syria by a U.S.-born journalist, posted a video on YouTube titled "Where did the Syrian Revolution Go Wrong? Part 2."

 

Pro-Al-Qaeda Women's Magazine Publishes Article On Bitcoin By Jihadi Ideologue

On January 3, 2022, a pro-Al-Qaeda publisher released Issue 23 of its "Ibnat Al-Islam" women's magazine, which contains an article discussing cryptocurrencies, specifically Bitcoin, by a jihadi ideologue.

 

Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) Launches Military Recruitment Campaign

On December 25, 2021, Syrian jihadi group Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) launched a recruitment campaign for its military arm titled, "We will Certainly Strengthen Thy Arm through Thy Brother" (Quran 28:35).

 

Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) In Syria Releases Clip Showing Daily Life Of Operatives, Uyghur Community

On December 24, 2021, the media arm of the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP), an Uyghur jihadi group active in Syria, released a 47-minute video clip which portrays the life and activities of the Uyghur community and its mujahideen in Syria.

 

Accusations Of French 'Continuous War' Against Muslims In Article In Praise Of 2020 Murder Of French Teacher In Pro-Al-Qaeda Magazine

The January 3, 2022, Issue 23 of the Ibnat Al-Islam (Daughter of Islam) quarterly magazine released by a pro-Al-Qaeda media outlet includes an article titled, "Excuse Me, It Isn't Macron But One Continuous War."

 

Houthis Reportedly Establish Political Office In Berlin Following Back-Channel Negotiations

On January 2, 2022 a London-based media outlet reported that the Houthis have established an office of political and diplomatic representation in Berlin, Germany, following back-channel negotiations between Berlin and Sana'a.

Between June 5 and 6, 2022, there were reports of six different types of attacks targeting American forces across Iraq.

 

Escalation Of Attacks Against U.S. Targets In Iraq, Two Bases, Two Convoys Attacked In Two Days

There was a clear escalation in attacks against U.S. targets in Iraq between January 3 and 4, 2022, apparently to mark the anniversary of the January 3, 2020 assassinations of IRGC Qods Force commander Qasem Soleimani and Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Deputy Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis in a U.S. drone strike near Baghdad airport.

 

Coordinating Body Of Iraqi Resistance Threatens To Renew Attacks On U.S. Forces If They Do Not Withdraw From Iraq

Telegram Channel Supporting Iran-Backed Militias Posts Video 'As Message To CENTCOM Commander McKenzie,' Threatening Attacks On U.S. Embassy, Al-Asad Airbase

As part of the threats to target U.S. forces in Iraq in retaliation for the death of Qods Force Commander Qassem Soleimani and PMU deputy-commander Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, a Telegram channel which supports the Iran-backed militias in Iraq, issued an animation graphic which threatens attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, the Ayn Al-Asad airbase and U.S. military convoys.

 

Afghan Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid Says Governance In Muslim Nations Not Based On Shari'a, Adds: 'Pakistan's Political Structure... Does Not Represent An Islamic System' Of Government

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban jihadi organization which seized power on August 15, 2021), has said in an interview that was livestreamed on Facebook that the system of government in Pakistan and other Muslim countries does not represent Islam and is not in the true spirit of shari'a.
