The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban jihadi organization that seized power in Afghanistan on August 15, 2021) told the United States that if America wants 2,000 soldiers to guard its embassy in Kabul, the Taliban too will deploy a similar number of suicide bombers at the Afghan embassy in Washington D.C.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (the Movement of the Pakistani Taliban, TTP) has released a video featuring TTP emir Mullah Noor Wali Mehsud aka Abu Mansoor Asim visiting different areas in the Pakistani border region, addressing Taliban fighters, and praying at the grave of the slain TTP leader Mullah Fazlullah Khurasani.

 

EXCLUSIVE: Iranian-Backed Shi'ite Militia In Iraq Claims Third Attack This Month Against U.S. Convoys

On December 19, 2021, a Telegram channel affiliated with an Iranian-backed Shi'ite militia in Iraq, published an official claim signed by another group identified with the Iranian-backed Shi'ite militias in Iraq. The statement took responsibility for an attack on "a convoy of the American occupation army in Al-Anbar Governorate."

 

EXCLUSIVE: New Iran-Backed Armed Group In Iraq Threatens To Attack U.S. Forces Until They Leave Iraqi Territory

On December 18, 2021, a new Iran-backed group that is part of the Islamic resistance in Iraq issued an official statement on a Telegram channel it opened in its name in which it declares its intention to mount attacks against the American forces in Iraq until they leave the country.

 

ISIS Publishes Infographic Of Its IED Attacks Around The World

The most recent issue of the Islamic State (ISIS) weekly Al-Naba' magazine (Issue 317), published on December 16, 2021, includes an infographic in which the organization details the IED attacks it carried out during the first three months of the Islamic year 1443, which corresponds approximately to October-December 2021.

 

ISIS Claims Attack On Southern African Mission (SADC) In Mozambique, Killing Two

On December 21, 2021, the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for an attack on the SADC Mission in Mozambique, a.k.a. the Southern African Development Community Military Mission (SAMIM).

 

ISIS Continues Its Offensive Against Egyptian Army And Pro-Government Tribal Militias In Sinai

During December 2021, operatives from the Islamic State (ISIS) continued to attack the Egyptian Army and pro-government tribal militias in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.

On December 16, 2021, Issue 317 of the Islamic State (ISIS) weekly Al-Naba' magazine was published, which includes an editorial summarizing the past four years since the "Crusader Coalition" declared its "fictitious victory" over ISIS.

 

Pro-ISIS Posters Vow To Target New U.S. Embassy In Lebanon, Accuse U.S. Of Collaborating With Hizbullah, Call On Lebanese 'Monotheists' To Join ISIS

On December 17, 2021, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) outlet released two posters based on a Financial Times report claiming that the U.S. is spending one billion USD to build a huge embassy in Lebanon.

 

Telegram Channel Linked To U.S.-Based Jihadi Preacher Ahmad Musa Jibril Urges Muslims To Support Female Relatives Of ISIS Fighters Deported From Syria To Their Countries Of Origin

On December 16, 2021, a Telegram channel affiliated with U.S.-based jihadi cleric Ahmad Musa Jibril published a post in English urging Muslims to help female relatives of ISIS fighters who have been deported from refugee camps in Syria to their countries of origin.

A pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media group in Pakistan has released the second issue of an Urdu-language jihadi magazine. The magazine calls for the killing apostates and unbelievers and celebrates the December 3, 2021 lynching of a Sri Lankan non-Muslim in Pakistan on allegations of blasphemy.

 

Pro-ISIS Tech Outlet Resumes Operations After Eight-Month Hiatus

On December 15, 2021, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) outlet published a poster on the ISIS-operated Rocket.Chat server announcing that it will resume its operations following an eight-month hiatus caused by "adverse circumstances."

On December 19, 2021, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) outlet released Arabic and English versions of a video titled "Africa and the Rise of the Caliphate."

On December 19, 2021, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media outlet published a video highlighting ISIS attacks on the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Assad regime, and other enemies of the Islamic State in Syria.

 

Jihadi Social Media – Account Review (JSM-AR): Hizbullah Supporter With Over 10,000 Followers Uses TikTok Hashtags, Trending Songs To Promote Account Dedicated To Slain IRGC Qods Force Qassem Soleimani To Wider Audience

A Hizbullah supporter on TikTok uses deliberate techniques on the platform to attract a large number of viewers and followers.

 

Al-Shabab Releases Video Documenting Attack On Somali Soldiers, Features Speech By Slain Al-Qaeda Senior Commander 'Atiyyat Allah Al-Libi

On December 20, 2021, the media arm of the Somalia-based Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Shabab released a video documenting an attack on Somali soldiers near a town in south Somalia.

On December 12, 2021, the Telegram channel of a monthly magazine published by independent anti-Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) jihadi clerics in the Idlib region, posted Issue 31 of the magazine.

 

Pro-Al-Qaeda Media Outlets Share Statement From Al-Qaeda-Linked Nigerian Jihadi Group Praising Taliban Victory In Afghanistan

In late December 2021, several pro-Al-Qaeda (AQ) Twitter accounts shared a short video clip that includes an official statement from a Nigerian Al-Qaeda-linked jihadi group.

 

Jihadi Ideologue Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi: The Taliban's Promise Not To Allow Al-Qaeda To Launch Attacks Against The U.S. From Afghanistan Does Not Violate Shari'a Or Constitute A Banning Of Jihad

On December 15, 2021, Jordan-based Salafi-jihadi ideologue Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi published the fourth part in his series of articles about the Taliban, in which he argued that the Taliban's promise to the U.S. that they will not allow Al-Qaeda or other groups to launch attacks against the U.S. from Afghanistan does not violate shari'a and does not constitute a banning of jihad.

 

Jihadi Ideologue Defends Taliban Against Charges of Apostasy; Claims Their Conduct Is Similar To Tactics Of The Prophet

During the month of December 2021, Jordan-based Salafi-jihadi ideologue Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi published a series of articles about the Taliban titled, "Responses to Suspicions of Extremists Regarding the Taliban Emirate," in which he challenges those, chiefly the Islamic State (ISIS) and its supporters, who declare that the Taliban are apostates because of their foreign policy, their treatment of the Shi'ites, and their embrace of the constitutional monarchy from 1964.

 

Iraqi Shi'ite Cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr Launches 'Religious, Doctrinal, Moral Project' To Counter Ideas Seeking To Drive Muslim Youths Away From Islam

On December 15, 2021, a Telegram channel affiliated with an Iran-backed militia published a handwritten announcement by Iraq's populist Shi'ite cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr in which he announced the launching of a six-month campaign titled "So Remind, If The Reminder Should Benefit" (Quran 87:9).

 

Commander Of Iran-Backed Al-Nujaba Movement: Taking The Weapons Of The Resistance Is An Effort To Throw Iraq Into The Heart Of Normalization With Israel; It Will Not Happen, Even If It Costs Us Our Necks

On December 10, 2021, an Iraqi Shi'ite militia leader said in an address to Iraqi militia leaders that aired on Al-Nujaba TV (Iraq) that handing over the weapons of the resistance is "like handing Iraq over to the Americans and Israelis," adding: "this will not happen, even if it costs us our necks."

 

Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades Release Video, Biography Eulogizing Commander Killed In 2016

On the fifth anniversary of the assassination of a commander of Hamas's Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the Brigades shared on its Telegram channel a eulogy poster and a link to its website, where a biography and a tribute video are posted.
