The following is a collection of MEMRI TV clips from the MEMRI Sermons By Imams In The West project in 2024.
In a December 1, 2024 lecture at Masjid William Salaam in Norfolk, Virginia, Imam Ismael Saleem argued that to truly support Palestine, Jews and Christians must reject the Bible and accept Islam as the ultimate truth. He claimed that belief in the Bible prevents them from fully supporting Palestinians, adding that America is the "last stronghold of Christianity," while the British are increasingly abandoning Christianity and adopting Islam. Saleem called on Muslims to "cure the ills of the Jews" by teaching them the "ultimate truth is Islam." The lecture was streamed live on Saleem's Facebook page.
In his November 22, 2024 Friday sermon at the Kansas City Islamic Center, Muhammad Tarife said that the Islamic nation is the "best nation" and that it was brought to the world in order to encourage others to do good. He supplicated: "Oh Allah, annihilate the criminal Zionists, […] kill them one by one, and do not spare a single one of them […] allow us to torment them with our own hands, […] and heal the hearts of the believers." The sermon was uploaded to the YouTube channel of the Kansas City Islamic Center, where in 2023, Dr. Mohamed Kohia, Professor of Physical Therapy at Rockhurst University, referred to the October 7 attack as a "miracle."
In his Friday sermons at the Muslim Association of Greater Pittsburgh, delivered on October 13 and 20, 2023, immediately following the October 7 attack, Imam Amro Elaswalli (identified as the regular imam of the mosque) stated that Jews are "smart" for overcoming adversity and taking control of key positions in American society. He claimed that despite initially facing rejection in the U.S., Jews successfully infiltrated important businesses, media, and high-profile roles, which allowed them to influence American foreign policy on Israel and Palestine—even when it contradicts American interests.
He quoted a hadith from the Al-Bukhari collection regarding Muslims fighting Jews at the End of Times, where Jews would hide behind trees and rocks. Elaswalli also supplicated for Allah to purify the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the "filth of the Israelis." The imam referenced the late Dr. Yousuf Al-Qaradhawi, spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, and other scholars who argued that the fate of the Jews during the Holocaust was the fulfillment of a Quranic prophecy, in which the Jews would be punished for causing corruption on Earth twice.
The sermons were streamed live on MAP Gibsonia's YouTube channel. In November 2023, Elaswalli told a local news publication that "it’s important that everyone, regardless of faith and background, come together against violence and war. […] It’s crucial to work on fighting misinformation and maintaining dialogue across marginalized communities." In an October 25, 2024 sermon, he praised slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, saying even non-Muslims consider him a hero.
In his Friday sermon on October 25, 2024, at the MAS Staten Island Center, Imam Tareq Allan discussed the virtues of Jihad and the importance of understanding its values. He highlighted how, in times of tribulation, good and evil can be misrepresented, with genocide portrayed as "good" while Jihad is characterized as "terrorism." Imam Allan emphasized the necessity of having a burning desire for Jihad in one's heart and being willing to sacrifice for the sake of Allah. Even in non-Islamic countries, where armed struggle is not be applicable according to Islamic law, he urged Muslims to continue the struggle by spreading Islam. He also stated that anyone who dies without having fought for Allah's cause, or at least having the intention to do so, risks dying in "one of the valleys of hypocrisy." Finally, he reminded the congregation of Allah's promise that Islam will ultimately spread to every corner of the Earth and prevail.
In his November 1, 2024, Friday sermon at the Memphis Islamic Center, Yassir Fazaga discussed the upcoming U.S. elections, stating that politicians dazzle constituents with their speech. He referred to Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, as one of the "most beautiful" Gazan leaders, praising his demonstration of what it means to die honorably. Fazaga claimed that people regard Sinwar as a hero and a legend, noting that he "walked the walk and talked the talk." He compared Gazan leaders to American politicians, who, in his view, use "false speech" and spread corruption once elected. The sermon was streamed live on the YouTube channel of the Islamic Center of Memphis, Tennessee.
In his November 1, 2024 Friday sermon at the North Hudson Islamic Center in New Jersey, Ayman Aishat, Director of Masjid Engagement for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), addressed the upcoming U.S. elections. He claimed that historically, the United States had paid the jizya poll tax to the Ottoman Caliph but argued that a Zionist plot had weakened the Islamic nation's connection to the mosque and the Quran by promoting Western values. This, he said, led to the Islamic world being "slaughtered like a steak" and divided into nations. Aishat accused the Zionists of promoting Western civilization to Muslims and ruling countries through a “devilish strategy” of destroying the family unit. He expressed optimism, noting that mosques in the U.S. are once again full, and emphasized that Muslims in America play a critical role in the global Muslim community. He urged worshippers to vote in larger numbers, especially in swing states, to demonstrate their influence, citing Michigan Muslim voters’ “historical change” in the primary elections. The sermon was streamed live on the NHIEC YouTube channel.
In his October 25, 2024 Friday sermon at the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia, Imam Farhan Siddiqi described Zionism as the "pinnacle" of oppression, claiming that Zionists seek to infiltrate and undermine nations for their own goals. He contrasted this with Islam, stating that Muslims bring "kheir" or goodness wherever they go, and while Islam may have spread through conflict, it ultimately empowers communities. Notably, the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center has historical ties to former Al-Qaeda leader Anwar Al-Awlaki, to some of the 9/11 terrorists, to Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, and to other known jihadis.
Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center is linked to former Al-Qaeda leader Anwar Al-Awlaki, to some of the 9/11 terrorists, to Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, and to other known jihadis. For more on Dar Al-Hijra, see MEMRI TV 11158, 10566, 8283, 7426, 6043, 5989, and Special Dispatch 8725.
On September 20, 2024, Tarek Muhammad delivered a Friday sermon at the Islamic Center of South Bay-LA, which was shared on ICSB LA's YouTube channel. During his address, he labeled Zionists as "prophet killers" and accused them of attempting to seize the Al-Aqsa Mosque through “fake history” and falsehoods. Muhammad claimed that Zionists aspire to establish an international government or “superpower” that would dominate the world. He asserted that they seek to control global systems through finance, media, and the promotion of homosexuality and pornography, particularly via Hollywood. Additionally, he alleged that Zionists control the American political system by buying off politicians.
Executive-director of CAIR – Council on American-Islamic Relations in Michigan Dawud Walid said in a September 20, 2024 Friday sermon at the Islamic Center of Detroit that if enough people in America become Muslim the issue of Palestine would be solved. He said that the way to deal with activist with Jewish Voice for Peace, "lefty Democrats," and "Candace Owens types" is to call them to convert to Islam. Walid admonished Muslims who prefer to treat people on a "transactional basis," affirming things that are prohibited by Islam, such as LGBTQ issues, for the sake of social justice. The sermon was streamed live on the YouTube channel of Islamic Center of Detroit.
At the "Stand with Lebanon" rally in Dearborn, MI held on September 25, 2024, following a series of attacks against Hizbullah leaders and fighters, protesters cheered for Hizbullah secretary-general at the time Hassan Nasrallah and Lebanese speaker of the parliament Nabih Berri. Participants shouted "Death to Israel," and Osama Siblani, community leader and editor-in-chief of The Arab American News, who was the MC of the event, said that Hizbullah has begun to invade the galilee, which was met with cheers from the crowd. He continued to say that Netanyahu wants to bring Israeli citizens back to their homes in the north of Israel, but he has one thing to say to him: "Go back to Poland!"
Abdullah Hammoud followed this and stated that the people of Dearborn want the values which they are advocating for in the city, for the entire globe. Siblani closed the rally with the statement: "Greetings to the resistance, from Dearborn, Michigan!" Other speakers at the event were Wayne County commissioner Sam Baydoun and Dr. Baqir Berry, the imam of the Islamic Institute of Knowledge, who has said in an April Friday sermon that the Jews need to be re-educated and that the Zionists are barbaric savages. The rally was streamed live on Dearborn in Arabic on Facebook two days before Nasrallah was assassinated.
At a September 29, 2024 Dearborn, Michigan vigil following the assassination of Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah, participants called upon Nasrallah to destroy Tel Aviv. They chanted: "We heed your call, oh Nasrallah!" "Death to Israel!" and "Khaybar, Khaybar, oh Jews, the army of Muhammad will return." Participants waved Lebanese and Palestinian flags. Video footage from the vigil was posted on the Facebook page of Dearborn Area Community Members.
Islamic scholar and radiologist Sheikh Dr. Kia Jahed said at an address he delivered at George Mason University that since the Balfour Declaration of 1917, six million Palestinians have been displaced, and he said that that these numbers are similar to the number of Jews that people are "taught" were killed in the Nazi Holocaust. He explained that there is a lot of debate about how many Jews were actually killed in the Holocaust – with possible estimates being 3 million, one million, or maybe 600,000 – and that the figure of six million is commonly referred to because "Israel would have you believe" that that many Jews were killed because this creates the most sympathy for its cause. He also said that it is very "ironic" that the survivors of the Nazi Holocaust immediately afterwards perpetrated a holocaust that is "ten times worse" against the Palestinians, and the world just looked on.
Dr. Jahed is a radiologist working in Winchester, Virginia. The address was posted on the GMU MSA YouTube channel on September 17, 2024, although it was originally delivered on October 24, 2023.
Islamic scholar Raja Abdulhaq said at a lecture at Muslim American Society (MAS) Staten Island Center in New York that the United States supports Israel unconditionally because the Zionists are "okay" with the Western ideologies of capitalism, imperialism, secularism, global hegemony, mass production, consumerism, corporate greed, and control of raw materials. He said that there is currently an ideological war between the Western secular capitalist worldview and the Islamic worldview about justice and human dignity, and he said that Gaza and its resistance exemplify jihad and the Islamic obligation to make the world a better place. He said that if Gaza continues to stand in the face of the Western colonial powers, it will be a role model for the rest of the world, which he predicted will "rise up." The lecture was posted to the MAS Staten Island YouTube channel on September 14, 2024.
During his September 13, 2024 Friday sermon at the Muslim Community Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, Imam John Ederer said that he fears Muslim children believe what they are told in class about 9/11. He said: "They are being told in class that Islam and Muslims were the cause of this terrorist act." Ederer stated that "Islam and Muslims had nothing to do with what happened on 9/11," because "Islam is completely opposed to someone killing a bunch of civilians who went to work." He added that you cannot make a Muslim guilty for 9/11, and he claimed that the Muslims were the biggest victims of 9/11. Ederer accused the United States of being a "terrorist state." The sermon was streamed live on MCC Charlotte Media on YouTube.
On August 11, 2024, Al-Awda New York held a vigil in honor of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran. A man whose face was covered with a keffiyeh read a statement drafted by Al-Awda NY. He said: "From within the belly of the beast we salute and honor the axis of resistance […] We welcome whatever path it takes to dismantle the Zionists state." He went on to pray that the souls of the "honorable and beloved martyrs and freedom fighters Ismail Haniyeh and [Hizbullah top military commander] Fuad Shukr rest in peace."
The U.S. Department of Treasury was offering $5 million for information leading to the capture of Shukr for the key role he played in planning and carrying out the 1983 attack on the U.S. Marine Corps barracks in Beirut, which killed 241 U.S. service members. Shukr was killed in a July 30 Israeli airstrike.
Following the vigil, participants attended a Salat Al-Ghaib in-absentia funeral prayer service at the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge – Masjid Mus'ab Bin Umayr. American lawyer and activist Lamis Deek sent a message honoring Haniyeh that was read at the vigil. According to her website, Deek is a core member and former co-chair of Al-Awda New York as well as a board member of CAIR-New York.
In an August 23, 2024 Friday sermon at the Islamic Society of North Jersey in Flanders, NJ, imam Khalil Adem said that YouTube influencers are starting to "expose Israel for what it is" and asking why it is controlling America. He said that Allah has told Muslims about the characteristics of the Jews in the Quran, labeling those who cause corruption in the land, causing havoc, and killing as "Jews." Adem explained that today, Muslims refer to such people as "Zionists." He stated that Allah has stated in the Quran the aggression of the Jews and therefore, Muslims "know their downfall." Adem added: "Their end will come, and the Muslims will be the ones to do it." In addition to his position as imam of the Islamic Society of North Jersey, Khalil Adem serves as an administrative supervisor at Hackensack University Medical Center. The video was uploaded to the Islamic Society of North Jersey YouTube channel.
In a Brooklyn Friday sermon by Sheikh Muhammad Al-Barr at the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge – Masjid Mus'ab Bin Umayr on August 16, 2024, he prayed to Allah to liberate Palestine from "the occupiers" and annihilate them. He asked Allah to grant victory to the mujahideen in Palestine and guide their shooting. The sermon was streamed live on the Facebook page of the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge – Masjid Mus'ab Bin Umayr.
In his August 9, 2024 Friday sermon at the Islamic Center of Rockland County, New York, the imam praised Hamas, saying that they are "the people of Allah" and Israel, the United States, Germany, and England cannot defeat them, because they have faith in Allah. He supplicated asking Allah to guide the shooting of "our brothers" in Palestine and Gaza, to destroy the Zionist Jews and to "seize them in a crushing grip." The sermon was streamed live on the YouTube page of the Islamic Center of Rockland.
During his August 2, 2024 Friday sermon in Pullman, Washington, following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, imam Raed Alsawaier said that Israel labels anyone who objects to it a "terrorist" in order to assassinate them wherever they may be. He asked if the leaders of the American War of Independence could be called "terrorists." Alsawaier supplicated to Allah, praying: "Oh Allah, annihilate the plundering Zionists, count them one by one, scatter them, and do not spare a single one of them." The sermon was streamed live on the YouTube channel of the Pullman Islamic Center.
Sheikh Abu Usama At-Thahabi asked Allah to curse men who act and dress like women, in a June 30, 2024 lecture at Masjid As-Sunnah in Orlando, FL. He also said that the corporal punishment dictated by Islam is still applicable today wherever possible in the Islamic world, on the condition that the punishments be carried out in a humane and "quick, precise, and clean" fashion like "chopping," which is better than execution via lethal injection or electrocution.
Abu Usama At-Thahabi is a U.S.-born imam who used to serve as the imam of the Green Lane Masjid in Birmingham, England. He has recently returned to the United States. For a similar sermon by Sheikh At-Thahabi from 2019, see MEMRI TV Clip No. 7521.
In a July 12, 2024 Friday sermon at the MAS Bronx Muslim Center, the imam said that the Christians and Jews were jealous of the Muslims. He said that the Christians can't fill their churches with "regular people" anymore, so they have decided to "adapt the Bible to today's society," and they are allowing LGBT people in. He continued to say that Allah has removed His mercy from the Jews and that He has chosen the Muslims as "the best of nations," and this is why the Jews want to kill the Muslims. He added that the Jews can't stand this, they can't digest it, and that this gives them acid reflux. The Imam further asked whether the Muslims are deserving of this jealousy. He warned the congregants against "falling" for the Zionist games and traps by listening to music produced by Zionist production companies and watching "Zionist films" made by "their Zionist Hollywood." The MAS Bronx Muslim Center is part of Muslim American Society (MAS) New York branch. The sermon was streamed live on Bronx Muslim Center on Facebook, and the identity of the imam was not provided.
Colorado Imam Karim Abuzaid taught a children's class at Chicago's Darul Quran Mosque on June 30, 2024, in which he instilled into the children that their number one goal in life is to die as a Muslim and go to Paradise. He also instructed the boys in the class not to look at the girls while they were delivering their answers. Video of the class was streamed live on Karim Abuzaid's YouTube channel.
In a June 21, 2024 Friday sermon at Lafayette, Louisiana, the imam said in his supplication: "Oh Allah, annihilate the Jews and the Chris… Oh Allah, annihilate the Jews and their helpers. […] kill them one by one and do not spare a single one of them." The sermon was streamed live on the Facebook page of the Islamic Center of Lafayette, which gave no indication as to the identity of the imam. However, online research suggests that the imam was Mohamad El-Saleh, whom according to news reports, represented the Islamic Center at a November 7, 2023 interfaith prayer for peace in the Middle East along with Christian and Jewish faith leaders and government officials at the Lafayette city hall. The Islamic Center of Lafayette has ties to the Muslim Students Association of the University of Lafayette, and is located near the University of Louisiana, Lafayette campus.
Muhammad Musri, president of American Islam and Chairman of the Board of the Islamic Society of Central Florida discussed in his June 21, 2024 Friday sermon plans to buy up abandoned churches and turn them into mosques. He said that Muslims are turning churches into mosques in order to serve the same community, because one day they will become Muslims. Musri said that 100 years ago Christians invaded Islamic countries and built missionary schools destroying mosques and Islamic schools. He added that now the Muslims are "returning the favor" by converting churches into mosques and turning the local schools into Islamic schools. Musri stated: "This is an election year, but we are not going to be happy with either candidate, we have to be happy when Islam becomes the best candidate for us." He added: "I ask Allah to give Islam victory in this country."
American Islam is described as a "national organization representing and working to empower moderate Islam" on its website. According to his biography on the American Islam website, Muhammad Musri serves as an advisor on Islam and Muslims to various U.S. government agencies, and he is a member and past co-chairman of the Interfaith Council of Central Florida. Muhammad Musri delivered his Friday sermon at the Muslim Community Association of the San Francisco Bay Area, and it was streamed live on the mosque's YouTube channel.
Prominent Texas Islamic scholar Omar Suleiman hosted American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) official Mohamad Habehh on stage at the MAS-ICNA convention, following Habehh’s arrest for heckling Secretary of State Antony Blinken at a Senatit is.e hearing. Suleiman stressed that Muslims should not be afraid of speaking up for "political prisoners" in the U.S. such as the Holyland Five, Aafia Siddiqui, and Jamil Abdullah al-Amin. He said: "It's time for us to take a page out of the book of the people of Gaza and to show that we are not afraid."
Director of development for AMP Mohamad Habehh said that Antony Blinken will be remembered as the "Butcher of Gaza" and "Genocide Joe" will go down for what he did in Gaza. Several pending civil lawsuits accuse American Muslims for Palestine of having close ties to Hamas.
Omar Suleiman is the president of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research in Irving, Texas, an adjunct professor of Islamic studies and member of the Ethics Center Advisory Board at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and the resident scholar at the Valley Ranch Islamic Center, also in Irving. In September 2021, he spoke at a rally on behalf of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani neuroscientist who is serving an 86-year sentence for attempted murder of U.S. military personnel and who is known for her affiliation with Al-Qaeda, that was held in front of FMC Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas, where Dr. Siddiqui is being held.
The rally was organized by CAIR Texas, American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), and MAS PACE. The Holyland Five refers to five U.S. citizens who were convicted in 2008 for funneling millions of dollars to Hamas under the guise of charity organization the Holy Land Foundation. Jamil Abdullah al-Amin aka H. Rap Brown is an activist who is serving prison time for shooting a police officer.
Imam Amir Abdel Malik Ali said in his May 17, 2024 Friday sermon at the UC Irvine encampment that the university's chancellor Howard Gillman is "a Zionist Jew and his Zionism is showing." Ali said that he identified Gillman was Jewish because of his last name. He continued to say that there are "good Jews" and "bad Jews," and the bad Jews are "basically the Zionists." Ali spoke following a police crackdown on the university's campus encampment. The sermon was posted on OC Palestine on YouTube.
Imam Amir Abdel Malik Ali is the leader of the Oakland branch of As-Sabiqun, which was founded by DC Imam Abdul Alim Musa. As-Sabiqun has been identified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League. In December 2023, Amir Abdel Malik Ali delivered a lecture in Santa Clara, California in which he asserted that the Jews are the new Nazis.
Executive Director of American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) Osama Abuirshaid said at an April 25, 2024 speech at the George Washington University encampment that protesters will change America forever. He said that Zionism will be a dark moment in history, and the generation of the participants in the encampment will bring this "disgrace to an end." He concluded his speech, saying: "We will take back America […] You will be the past, we are the future. Assalam Alaykum."
The video was posted on Osama Abuirshaid's Facebook page. Abuirshaid posted on his Facebook page videos of other speakers at George Washington University on April 25, one of whom was Rafiki Morris, who said in a May 2023 Nakba Day rally in Washington D.C. that the only good Zionist is a dead Zionist and that America is a Zionist country and it must be destroyed.
During his May 11, 2024 lecture at the Islamic Center of Fort Lauderdale, Islamic scholar Husam Kablawi said that everything the United States does is "deception." He said that America staged 9/11, Pearl Harbor, and "even the Holocaust itself." Kablawi qualified: "Not that the Holocaust didn't happen, but... We won't get into that actually." Earlier in his lecture he said that it is the donors of the universities who call the shots, and most of them - like Bill Ackman - are Zionists. Kablawi said that the students in the encampments are asking for help from the "people who are doing this to them."
The lecture was streamed live on the Facebook page of Masjid Al Iman of Fort Lauderdale Florida. One more video was streamed live on this Facebook page on May 13, but no more videos have been posted to this page since then. It is worth noting that several lectures and sermons that took place in this mosque have caused backlash for antisemitic themes. Husam Kablawi was also a regular speaker at Masjid As Sunnah An Nabawiyyah North Miami, which has removed its Facebook page following backlash from imam Dr. Fadi Kablawi's April 26, 2024 sermon, in which he accused Israeli military of organ trafficking and theft and prayed for the annihilation of the "tyrannical Jews, the brother of apes and pigs." Husam Kablawi is a pharmacist and a former member of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at Florida International University. Following the October 7 attacks, he mocked accusations that Hamas committed sexual attacks against Israeli women in his Boca Raton Friday sermon.
In a May 3, 2024 Friday sermon in Hawthorne, California, Ayman Aishat, Council on American-Islamic Affairs (CAIR) director of mosque engagement, said that the "devils are united" in a "big conspiracy" to prevent the Islamic creed from being implemented in Muslim lands. He said that in order to understand current events, it is enough to examine recent events, when Theodor Herzl presented his Protocol and strategy in the Zionist Congress in Basel. Aishat prayed that Allah annihilate the "plundering Zionists." The sermon was streamed live on the YouTube channel of Masjid Hawthorne.
Osama Siblani, the editor and publisher of The Arab-American News said in a May 10, 2024 address at the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, Michigan that the Arab-American community is on the way to the White House, Congress, and decision making everywhere in America. He said that 40 years ago, the mayor of Dearborn said that the city had an "Arab problem," and now Siblani said: "The Arabs are ruling Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, and Hamtramck." Siblani spoke at a dinner hosted by the Lebanese International Business Council in honor of former director of the Lebanese General Security Agency Major General Abbas Ibrahim, who is known for ties with Lebanese Hizbullah.
Earlier, in November 2023, Siblani shared the stage with Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud and several extremists in a pro-Palestinian rally where the dismantling of Israel was being called for. Siblani said that a new generation has emerged, who will "clean" the U.S. Congress and White House of bloodthirsty killers. He said: "We are on the road to a great victory here in D.C. and there in Palestine" (See MEMRI TV clip 10862).
In his April 26, 2024 Friday sermon at Masjid As Sunnah An Nabawiyyah North Miami, Florida imam Dr. Fadi Kablawi accused the Israeli military of organ trafficking. He said that they are worse than the Nazia, and he alleged that Israel is stealing the skin and organs of Palestinians. Kablawi suggested: "Go and find who is behind organ trading in this country or this world." He repeated a conspiracy theory according to which Israeli medical and rescue teams that came to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake engaged in organ theft (for more information, see MEMRITV clip no 2370). Kablawi concluded his sermon by praying that Allah annihilates the "tyrannical Jews," the "brothers of apes and pigs." The sermon was streamed live on the Facebook page of the mosque.
The YouTube channel of Philadelphia’s Leaders Academy posted a video from its cultural day event on May 7, 2024, in which a student by the name of Raneem Mustafa recited a speech about Palestine. In her speech, she praised Jihad as the "pinnacle of Islam." Mustafa praised the "martyrdom" of the people of Gaza, and she added that the men of Gaza have taught her what "real men" are and that "real sacrifice" is sacrificing their souls and children for the sake of their homeland. She continued to say that the women of Gaza are wallowing in the blood of their children, sacrificing them for the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
It should be noted that the Philadelphia chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS) has previously posted to its Facebook page videos from the Leaders Academy's "One Ummah Day" events from 2017 and 2019, in which young students sang "Chop off their heads!" and expressed their will to become martyrs for the sake of Palestine and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. For more information, see MEMRI TV Clips Nos. 7201 and 7194. Following MEMRI's exposure of these videos, the Facebook page of MAS Philadelphia was suspended, and the Philadelphia chapter no longer appears on the MAS website. See MEMRI Special Dispatch No. 8054 for more information about the public response to these clips. Notably, on May 15, 2019, MAS Philadelphia and Leaders Academy issued a statement saying that a "process" has been put in place to prevent the repetition of such an "unintended mistake."
In his March 22, 2024 Friday sermon at the Islamic Center of Eastern North Carolina in Greenville, NC, Imam Khadem AbuZain said that Allah has decreed Friday sermons in order to inspire Muslim youth to raise the banner of Jihad. He said that Muslims have been "numbed" towards the true nature of the Jews because they have lived in "so-called" peace with them. AbuZain added that the Jews' hearts have been hardened, they killed prophets, they strive to spread corruption on Earth, and they are selfish. He continued to say that the people of Gaza have taught Muslims about Jihad and resistance. AbuZain added that they "welcome death" and give their children as "sacrament." He said that they are the sons of Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and the grandchildren of Arab Revolt leader and the namesake of Hamas's military wing, 'Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam. The sermon was uploaded to the YouTube channel of the Islamic Center of Eastern North Carolina.
In a November 3, 2023 Friday sermon at the Islamic Center of New Haven, Connecticut which streamed live the mosque's Facebook page, the imam said that Islam is the greatest civilization and that all other civilizations should "bow down" to it. He also said that the Jews have "lowered their standards" since they used to kill prophets, but are killing "only" ordinary humans. He also said that Muslims recite the first chapter of the Quran 17 times every day in order to be reminded Allah's anger towards the Jews.
Speakers at the Iran's International Al-Quds Day rally held in Houston, Texas, in front of the Israeli consulate on April 5, 2024 praised the October 7 attack, martyrdom, Jihad, and resistance. A female speaker referenced Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah's speech from March 29, 2024. She said that Nasrallah wanted this audience to recognize that "martyrdom is good, martyrdom is a goal. [...] martyrdom is Jihad."
Another speaker referenced the words of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, saying that Zionism is a cancerous tumor, which must be destroyed. The event's master of ceremonies led the crowd in chants: "Resistance is the only way!" "Flood of Al-Aqsa, Flood of Al-Aqsa! We are with the Intifada! On the streets we will flood... Honoring the Martyrs' blood!" Participants chanted: "HPD [Houston Police Department], KKK, IDF – they're all the same!"
In a January 5, 2024 Friday sermon at the Islamic Center of Warren, Michigan, which was streamed live on the Mosque's YouTube channel, Imam Abdou Alwaly Zindani invoked the hadith about the Muslims killing the Jews at the End of Times. He said that the Muslims will slaughter the Jews like sheep and that the stones and trees will "work undercover" for the Muslims, telling them where the Jews are hiding. Zindani went on to supplicate: "Oh Allah, make us soldiers for You, [...] make us die the way you want us to die."
Abdou Zindani is imam at the Islamic Universal Services Association in Warren, Michigan. He presented at the November 2023 interfaith Thanksgiving service organized by the InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit.
Dr. Fadi Kablawi said in a January 26, 2024 Friday sermon at Masjid As Sunna An Nabawiyyah North Miami, which was streamed live on Facebook that Zionism is a problem for the whole world. He said that if it serves their interests, "those sociopaths" will do what they are doing to the Palestinians in Gaza to the Christians, Chinese, Germans, and Americans. Dr. Kablawi said that they have to create "scenarios" like 9/11, assassinations, or explosions around the world, "so they can come and kill us." He said that Muslims do not wish to kill any Americans or to take over their country. However, Dr. Kablawi said, if the U.S. becomes a Muslim majority country, the citizens would choose to implement shari'a law. He added: "I am here [in the U.S.], so I can covert America."
In a January 12, 2024 Friday sermon delivered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Ayman Aishat, CAIR director of Mosque Engagement said that the Zionists plotted to remove the Quran out of the hearts of the believers. He said that this was decided when Herzl gathered with "his people, the Zionists" in Basel, Switzerland and that they plotted to divide the Muslims and appoint "the worst of their people as leaders." Aishat said that this has made it easier for Muslim countries to be conquered, destroyed, and controlled. The sermon was streamed live on the Facebook page of the Islamic Center Masjid Al-Sabareen.
In a January 12, 2024, Friday sermon at the Fort Hamilton Islamic Society of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, which was streamed live on Facebook, the speaker said that the Jews have "incurred the wrath of Allah," because they changed the Torah.
