On January 2, 2022, a vigil was held outside the U.S. Consulate in Toronto in memory of IRGC Qods Force Commander Qasem Soleimani. The vigil marked two years since the U.S. assassination of Soleimani. Canadian Shi'ite Sheikh Shafiq Huda, the Director of the Islamic Humanitarian Service in Kitchener, Ontario, said in English that leaders in the West are trying to "rule the Islamic nation" from the White House, and that they are too cowardly to come to the battlefield. He said that both Biden and Trump will end up in the dustbin and led the audience in a chant: "Allah Akbar! Khamenei is the Leader! America is the Great Satan!"
Later, Canadian Islamic Scholar Sauber Mojtahedi said in Farsi that Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, an Iraqi militia leader who was killed in the same air strike as Soleimani, had been the greatest soldiers of the Hidden Imam, and he said that the day will come when former President Donald Trump and former State Secretary Mike Pompeo will be tried in an Islamic court, just like Imam Khomeini had wanted to try the Shah in an Islamic court. Mojtahedi compared Trump to Saddam Hussein and Anwar Sadat, and he asked for Allah to curse him and Pompeo. For more information about Sheikh Shafiq Huda, see MEMRI TV Clips Nos. 8586 and 6614. The address was posted on the DARS TV YouTube channel.
#9286 – Canadian Human Rights Activist Firas Al-Najim At Vigil For Qasem Soleimani Outside U.S. Consulate In Toronto: We Will Set Out To Defend Islam In The Martyrdom-Seeking Style Of Karbala, At The Behest Of Khamenei, Sistani; Death To America! Down, Down Biden!
Canadian human rights activist Firas Al-Najim of CD4HR pledged to set out in the "martyrdom-seeking style of Karbala" in response to a fatwa by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei or Ayatollah Sistani. He spoke in a vigil in commemoration of Qasem Soleimani held in front of the U.S. consulate in Toronto, which he referred to as the "representative of the Great Satan," on January 2, 2022 and which was posted on Dars TV on YouTube. Al-Najim added that Soleimani is "one of us, the people of Iraq," and that "Iran is our ally." He said: "We will continue to fight alongside the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resistance axis – the PMU, Ansar Allah in Yemen, Hamas in Palestine, and Hizbullah in Lebanon." Al-Najim led the vigil participants in chants such as: "We respond to your call, oh Qasem Soleimani!" "We respond to your call, oh Abu Mahdi Al-Mahandis!" "Allah's curses upon America!" "Death to the U.S. administration!" "Death to America!" "Down, down Biden!" For more information about the vigil, see MEMRI TV clip no 9279.
#9923 – Pro-Palestinian Rally In Brussels: Rise Up, Throw Stones, Shoot Bullets – The Palestinians Will Redeem Themselves! The Israeli Ambassador Should Be Afraid; Israel Will Be Defeated, Along With America, Canada
On October 29, 2022, a pro-Palestinian "March for Return and Liberation" was held in Brussels, Belgium. The protestors carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans in support of armed resistance, of the newly formed Lion's Den terrorist group, and of firing rockets at Israel. Some of the protestors wore headbands and covered their faces with keffiyehs in a fashion similar to Palestinian militants. Muhammad Khatib, the Europe coordinator of the Samidoun organization said that Israel will "come to an end" at the hands of the Palestinian resistance, that the Palestinians resistance should strive for international support, that the "criminal" Israeli ambassador to Brussels should be "afraid," and that defeating Israel means also defeating the United States and Canada. The footage of the protest was aired on Palestine Today TV (Palestinian Islamic Jihad), and it was also posted to the Samidoun Network YouTube channel. It should be noted that in February 2021, Israel's Ministry of Defense designated Samidoun a terrorist organization due to its affiliation with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). For more about Samidoun, see MEMRI TV Clips Nos. 9634, 9471, 9291, 7276, and 6100.
#9916 – Muslim-American Activist Dana Al-Hasan At Raleigh, N.C. Lecture: Martyrdom And Dying For Your Land Are An Integral Part Of Palestinian Culture; This Is An Important Religious And Cultural Element We Need To Tell Non-Muslims About
Muslim-American activist Dana Al-Hasan, who belongs to an organization called Muslims for Social Justice, delivered a lecture about the Palestinian "struggle for liberation" at the Islamic Association of Raleigh, North Carolina, on October 29, 2022. Al-Hasan said that fighting, dying, and martyrdom are "integral" parts of Palestinian culture, and people need to tell non-Muslims about the religious and cultural significance these things have to Palestinians. She also said that Muslims in America can "adopt" many things from the Palestinian resistance. Al-Hasan's lecture was accompanied by a slideshow that included a photo of several Palestinian terrorists, including Omar Abu Leila, Wafa Baradei, and Fatah terrorists Aboud Sobh and Muhammad Al-Azizi. The slideshow featured a quote from Al-Azizi's father that said that "martyrdom is a celebration". The slideshow also said: "Palestinian fighters are referred to as martyrs [and] the celebration of martyrdom allows Palestinians to honor the lives given to the resistance."
On November 22, 2022, Mayadeen TV (Lebanon) aired an interview with Canadian political activist Laith Marouf, who has recently been banned from several social media platforms and who has had his contracts with the Canadian government as an "anti-racism" trainer canceled due to antisemitic statements he has made. Marouf said that the Zionists have "forced" social media companies like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok to "circumvent" laws, and that the Zionists have created a situation in which they – instead of the courts – get to define racism and antisemitism, since Zionism is otherwise indefensible. He criticized the Canadian government and legal system for being unjust, and he said that Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims must confront the Zionists "on all battlefields" since there is an "open war" with them. He also claimed that deplatforming him has cost the Zionists millions of dollars. In addition, Marouf said that the Zionists are part of the ruling system throughout the West, and that politicians can only win elections by gaining the favor of Zionists. According to online reports, Marouf has collected over $600,000 in Canadian federal government contracts since 2015. In a tweet from September 2021, he said that he doesn't give a rat's ass about the feelings of Jews, in another tweet he referred to "the Jewish White Supremacists" as "loud mouthed bags of human feces."

The rally moderator called for a "noble, honorable, [and] brave armed resistance" in Palestine and for its "complete liberation." He rejected the two-state solution and said that there is no distinction between Gaza, the West Bank, and the rest of Palestine. In addition, Michigan author Fatima Najdi recited a poem about how she could see the "quivering fear" of the "cancerous entity" that is Israel and the “final rasping breath of those Zionists." She also said that when Tel Aviv is razed to the ground, people will shout: "Never to Humiliation!" For more about the Al-Quds Committee, see MEMRI TV Clip No. 7284.

On September 18, 2021, a rally to free Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani neuroscientist who is serving an 86-year sentence for attempted murder of U.S. military personnel and who is known for her affiliation with Al-Qaeda, was held in front of FMC Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas, where Dr. Siddiqui is being held. The rally was organized by CAIR Texas, American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), and MAS PACE. At the rally, prominent Texas Islamic scholar and activist Dr. Omar Suleiman, the president of the Yaqeen Institute, said that it is time to reopen the cases of "political prisoners" like Dr. Siddiqui, who were put away in "sham" trials. American-Pakistani social activist Nadarat Siddiqui said that the courts are headed by "Zionist judges" and others who don't "give a damn" about Muslim prisoners. Footage of the rally was uploaded to a YouTube accounted named "Free Dr Aafia Siddiqui – USA."
#9307 – CAIR-TX Panel On Aafia Siddiqui – Siddiqui's Attorney Marwa Elbially: U.S. Government Lies On "Large Scale," Like It Lied About Jessica Lynch; Activist Linda Sarsour: Siddiqui 'Embodies' A Political Prisoner
In a November 11, 2021 panel that was streamed live on YouTube by the Council on American-Islamic Relations Texas (CAIR-TX), titled "Injustice: Dr. Aafia [Siddiqui] and the 20-Year Legacy of America's Wars," Aafia Siddiqui's attorney Marwa Elbially said that the U.S. government lies on a large scale. She gave the example of the "fabricated" rescue of U.S. soldier Jessica Lynch, who was taken hostage by Iraqi forces in 2003. She also said that the fact that Aafia Siddiqui has not become a "household name" for every American and that she has not been portrayed in "stupid TV shows" or "poorly-made movies" is proof that the government never really believed that she was an Al-Qaeda operative.
Prominent Palestinian-American activist Linda Sarsour, the Executive Director of Mpower Change, said that Aafia Siddiqui is a "political prisoner" like H. Rap Brown, who is serving a life sentence for the 2000 murder of two law enforcement officers, and like Leonard Peltier, who is serving a life sentence for involvement in the murder of two FBI agents. Notably, in September 2005, Iranian filmmaker Nader Talebzadeh also claimed that Jessica Lynch's rescue had been staged (see MEMRI TV Clip No. 881.) For more about Linda Sarsour, see MEMRI TV Clips No. 6935, 6808, and 6111.

On August 8, 2022, Within Our Lifetime, along with other pro-Palestinian organizations held a rally titled "NYC Stands with Gaza," following the recent round of fighting between the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Israel. In the rally, Nerdeen Kiswani of Within Our Lifetime said: "If you stand with Israel, you stand with death and destruction." She added that "resistance is not terrorism" and said that Palestinians have the right to "defend themselves by every means possible." She also accused New York City mayor Eric Adams of supporting the murder of Palestinians and Palestinian children.
Protesters chanted: "We don't want no two states – we want all of It." "Settlers go back home, Palestine is ours alone!" "We don't want no Zionists here!" and "The gate of Al-Aqsa is made of iron... It can be opened only by martyrs!" Footage of the rally was uploaded to Existence Is Resistance Instagram account and Freedom News TV – Night Edition on YouTube. Canada-based senior PFLP official Khaled Barakat, who is also the leader of the Samidoun organization, said in a June 3, 2022 speech at the International League of People's Struggle (ILPS) Assembly in Ottawa that Canada must abolish its terrorist list. He said that he would not deny his support for the Palestinian and Lebanese "resistance" to please Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, exclaiming: "F*ck Trudeau!"
Barakat expressed his support for "resistance groups" in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, and the Philippines, including the PFLP, Hamas, Hizbullah, and the Philippine Communist Party. In addition, he said that the Palestinian identity is based on armed struggle, and that armed struggle and missiles are the only way to achieve Palestinian rights. Barakat's speech was streamed live on the ILPS Facebook page. For more about Khaled Barakat and Samidoun, see MEMRI TV Clips Nos. 9471, 9291, 7276, and 6100.
On April 29, a video was uploaded to the Joe Friendly YouTube channel of the Al-Quds Day rally held in New York City. In the video, American human rights lawyer Lamis Deek, who states on her website (Lamisdeeklaw. com, accessed May 4, 2022) that she is a Board Member and Legal Committee Advisor of the New York branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), said that all Palestinians are freedom fighters and that the "resistance" axis consisting of Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the PFLF, the IRGC's Quds Force, and similar organizations is fighting not only for the liberation of Palestine, but for the protection of all people who suffer from the "global threat" posed by Israel. She added that Israel is a "mobilizer" of an oppressive global "machine" and that the "war of liberation" is coming. Calling for the dismantlement of Zionist "settler groups that are mobilizing war crimes in Palestine" and for the confrontation of "war corporations," she said that no safe haven should be left for those who "seek to revive apartheid," and lead the crowd in chanting: "Free Palestine! No justice, no peace!" Within Our Lifetime activist Nerdeen Qisawani also led the crowd in the chant: "Palestine will be free by any means necessary!" For more about Nerdeen Qiswani, see MEMRITV clips Nos. 9471, 9014, 8932, 8113, 7628, 6311, 6100, and 5560. For more about Lamis Deek, see MEMRI TV Clip No. 3430.
On March 30, 2022, several pro-Palestinian organizations held a Land Day march in New York City. In video footage posted on DataInput on Twitter, protesters chanted "We don't want no two states, we want all of it," and "No justice, no peace." Fatima Mohammed of the CUNY Law Students for Justice in Palestine said that the same forces who are bombing people in Yemen and incarcerating black people in America are killing Palestinians. She urged the crowd to demand that "Zionist" professors be banned from college campuses and that "Zionist" students not be allowed in the same "spaces" as Palestinians. Mohammed also explained that this is because Zionism is a "genocidal threat to us." In addition, she said that the Ukraine crisis has taught Americans the meaning of occupation and genocide and the meaning of defending one's land "by any means necessary." However, Mohammed added, "we are the ones who can't defend our lands," and she said that in "this Islamophobic and genocidal country" people cannot rely on the media or government to find their will to fight.
Nerdeen Kiswani of Within Our Lifetime led the crowd in chants of "From the River to the Sea Palestine, will be free." For more information about Nerdeen Kiswani and Within Our Lifetime, one of the organizations that sponsored the event, see MEMRI TV Clips Nos. 9014, 8932, 8113, 7628, 6311, 6100, and 5560.
