Iranian Video Shows Assassination of Trump, Pompeo, Netanyahu in the White House in Revenge for the Killing of Soleimani

#7722 | 02:17
Source: The Internet - "Fars News Agency (Iran)"

The Iranian Fars News Agency aired a short video on January 10, 2020, titled "Severe Revenge," dramatizing an Iranian assassination of U.S. President Donald Trump. In the video, Iranian officials are seen planning their revenge for the killing of Qods Force commander Qasem Soleimani. They study a board with a diagram of possible targets, U.S. President Trump is at the head and Israeli PM Netanyahu, Secretary of State Pompeo, Saudi Crown Prince Bin Salman, and Masoud Rajavi, former leader of Mujahedeen-e-Khalq are at the bottom. The Iranian officials say they are "going for the big fish," and one of them says: "We should target their head." In the video, the U.S. Capitol Building is blown up and then the Iranian forces storm the White House, shooting anyone in their sight. President Trump, Secretary of State Pompeo and PM Netanyahu, among others, lie dead on the White House floor. The voice of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is heard in the background, saying: "Severe revenge awaits the criminals whose dirty hands are soiled with his blood."

On Walkie-Talkie: "We have a report about a terror attack. Hajj Qassem's vehicle was hit."

TV Report: "Following the martyrdom of Islam's venerable general, Hajj Qassem Soleimani, and the martyrs who accompanied him, and first and foremost, Islam's great mujahid, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, the Leader of the Revolution referred in a statement to the continuation of the path..."

Iranian Officials: "Now that they have taken up arms, we will also be here until the end... What is our main target now?... We are going for the big fish. A fish rots from the head down. We should target their head... If we want to hit them, tonight is the time... I think we should think about it a bit more... C'mon, if you don't want to hit them, don't play with us. I swear by Abu Fadhl [Al-Abbas] that I'm sick and tired of all this talking... Sadegh, what do you say? Trust me... Let's do it. Yes, let's do it... Okay. Masoud, what about you?... Let's hit them... Take note, we will not be using walkie-talkies. I know that this will make coordination more difficult. Our cue will be the firing of an RPG. Are we clear?... Yes... Well done. Let's go... Go in, Hamed. Go in... Go, go, go, go, go, go!"

The dome of the Capitol explodes, the men fire at the White House and storm it, and men, including U.S. President Donald Trump, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lie dead on the floor.

Voice of Donald Trump: "Executed a flawless precision strike that killed the number one terrorist anywhere in the world, Qassem Soleimani."

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: "Severe revenge awaits the criminals whose impure hands are soiled with his blood..."

Russia's Officials And Media Commentators React To The Killing Of Soleimani – Part II

January 12, 2020
Iran, Russia | Special Dispatch No. 8488
On January 3, the Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, Commander of the special-task Quds Force of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, was killed by the US military, in an airstrike on Baghdad airport.[1] On January 6, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya explained that Russia and China blocked the statement of the UN Security Council condemning the attack against the US Embassy in Iraq, because it did not take into account the subsequent US air strike near the Bagdad airport, which resulted in killing of Soleimani[2] Below is an overview of Russian official and media reactions to the killing of Soleimani: (Source: Topwar.ru) Russian MFA Spokesperson Maria Zakharova: The US Attempts To Promote Their UN Security Council Draft Statement Turned Into A Search For Justifications For Their Unlawful And Violent Action Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on the killing of Soleimani, in an interview with RIA Novosti. Question: “On January 2, 2020, the US delegation at the UN Security Council circulated the Security Council’s draft statement for the press denouncing the attack on the US Embassy in Baghdad on December 31. Iran was peremptorily branded as the organizer of this attack. How would you comment on this document?” Zakharova: “The Russian Federation invariably and consistently upholds the principle of inviolability and security of diplomatic missions. We were ready to work on the US draft this time as well. “But a few hours later, the US military delivered a strike at Baghdad’s civilian airport, which killed several people, including Major General Qassem Soleimani of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, commander of its Quds Force. True to its anti-Iran policy, Washington, without offering any proof, has accused Tehran of masterminding the attack on the US Embassy in Baghdad and used an extrajudicial method to punish the Iranian general. “Against this background, the US attempts, in subsequent days, to promote their UN Security Council draft statement turned into a search for justifications for their unlawful and violent action. In this specific case, the UN Security Council’s approval of the proposed statement would have amounted to a display of disregard for the use of force in violation of the UN Charter and for the principle of respect on the part of all countries for sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.” (Mid.ru, January 9, 2020) Topwar.ru: Soleimani Should Not Be Considered A ‘Friend’ Of Russia; He Was Only A True Patriot Of His Country – Iran; For Moscow, A War Between Iran And The US Is Extremely Unprofitable Commenting on the killing of General Soleimani, the Russian media outlet Topwar.ru wrote: “In our country [Russia], the name of Qassem Soleimani became widely known after the start of Syrian war. It is said that it was General Soleimani, who was able to convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to send Russian troops to Syria. Be that as it may, but when the pro-Turkish militants shot down a Russian plane on November 24, 2015, it was General Soleimani who personally led the search and rescue operation, as a result of which the Russian pilot Konstantin Murakhtin was saved. “Of course, on this basis alone, Qassem Soleimani should not be counted a ‘friend’ of Russia. Soleimani was only a true patriot of his country – Iran… “For Moscow, the beginning of an open armed conflict between Iran and the United States or American allies is extremely unprofitable. Therefore, it is an easy assumption that the Russian side will begin to provide enhanced assistance to Tehran in order to increase the latter's defense capability in the event of further aggressive actions by the United States… “There is also an alternative point of view. General Qassem Soleimani was considered in the Iranian leadership as one of the most consistent opponents of any reconciliation with the United States. An ideological revolutionary, he genuinely  hated the ‘Great Satan,’ as Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini called the US at one time, and did not intend to put up with the West. “Now, according to an alternative forecast, the main opponent of the negotiation process has left this mortal coil, which means that just the negotiation vector can triumph in Iran’s foreign policy…” (Topwar.ru, January 6, 2020) Russian Expert Safarov: Soleimani Is A Legendary, Larger-Than-Life Person, Who Is Absolutely Irreplaceable; Trump ‘Will Be Scared For The Rest Of His Life’ Rajab Safarov, director of the Center for the Study of Modern Iran, characterized Soleimani as a legendary, larger-than-life person, who is absolutely irreplaceable. The political expert sees the incident as “the most glaring act of international terrorism by the United States.” “There is no other person of this magnitude among Iran's military leadership. Soleimani was a very well-read person and a philosopher. His humanitarian views were especially attractive. You cannot call him a terrorist. He was a true peacemaker on a global scale,” Safarov told the newspaper Vzglyad. Safarov believes that from now on the general will be seen as the most important martyr in Iran, he will be raised to the rank of a modern prophet, because he was “the most remarkable and authoritative person not only in Iran, but also in other Middle Eastern countries with pro-Iranian sentiments.” “Soleimani served as a balance of sorts in the Middle East. He always tried to prevent more bloodshed,” the expert said. Rajab Safarov is convinced that from now on, Trump “will be terrified for the rest of his life,” because by ordering the elimination of Soleimani “he raised America to the rank of an irreconcilable enemy of the Iranian people and demonstrated that for the U.S. no rules of international law exist.” “I know that dozens of groups are prepared to take personal revenge on Mr. Trump. They will not rest until they reach their goal. America is asleep now, and Trump feels like a hero because he eliminated the most famous General in the Middle East. But this bravado will end in a matter of hours or maximum days,” Safarov asserted. In Safarov’s words, not only the regional security is in serious doubt now, but the world security as well. “Whereas only a part of Iran's population used to look upon the U.S. with distrust and hatred, from now on it is a nationwide contempt. Now the Iranian government is facing the problem of containing this people's tsunami that can cause a chaotic reaction in all directions and render the process uncontrollable,” Safarov warned. (Vz.ru, January 3, 2020) Russian Expert Kortunov: Trump Is Not Looking For A Military Conflict With Iran; War Goes Against Trump’s Personal Philosophy; Iran Is Also Not Interested In A Major War Andrey Kortunov, the director of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), characterized Soleimani as a rare person and a major organizer. He was the leading conservative figure in the Iranian elite. Soleimani’s elimination is a dramatic way to send a signal to everyone: to the Democrats who accused Trump of inaction, and to the American partners in the Middle East, especially in the Gulf, to the effect that "we did not forget you." This is a signal to Iran that any escalation by Tehran, especially if American lives are threatened, as it happened the other day in Baghdad, will be met with a decisive response. And it is also a signal to Iraqis that there is hope for somewhat reducing Iranian influence in Iraq. Kortunov is convinced that Trump is not looking for a military conflict with Iran, as war “goes against his personal philosophy...Getting involved in a serious war with Iran on the eve of the presidential election is a gift to the Democrats. A war like this is never short and major losses are inevitable. No one can count on an easy victory,” Kortunov said. The political scientist suggested that the president’s decision to eliminate Soleimani was influenced by the show of force attributed by the West to Iran. This is, first of all, a series of attacks on tankers in the Gulf of Oman as well as the Houthis' attacks on oil refineries in Saudi Arabia. “Iran, of course, denies any involvement. Russia does not confirm this either, but in the West there is a firm belief that either the Iranians did that themselves, or it was carried out by pro-Iranian forces, so Tehran bears responsibility for these incidents. And Trump's reaction to all this was purely political. Condemnations were issued, sanctions against Iran were strengthened, but the opposition kept berating the president for his unwillingness to fight back. Trump was also criticized by the conservative Gulf monarchies who kept wondering how relevant were the security guarantees that the U.S. was offering them. That is to say, Trump had to show toughness,” Kortunov believes. He acknowledges that Iran has many tools at its disposal to respond to the killing of Soleimani, but "most of them are unlikely to reach the United States." "At the same time, American allies are, of course, reachable from Yemen, so Saudi Arabia and UAE can be attacked from there. Likewise, Israel can be attacked from southern Lebanon, which is controlled by Hizbullah. American military personnel remaining in Syria and Iraq could come under attack as well. So there may be some ‘surprises.’ But Iran is not interested in a major war and neither is Trump. So in any case, no serious escalation should be expected," Andrey Kortunov concluded. Iraqi MP Dhafer Al-Ani: The Decision to Expel U.S. Forces Was a Hasty Decision, Strategic Mistake Made by Pro-Iranian Political Elite That Does Not Serve the Interests of the Iraqi People

#7720 | 03:57
Source: Al-Arabiya TV (Dubai/Saudi Arabia)

Iraqi MP Dhafer Al-Ani, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Iraqi parliament, said in a January 5, 2020 interview on Al-Arabiya TV (Saudi Arabia) that the recent vote by the Iraqi parliament to expel U.S. forces from Iraq was a hasty decision and a strategic mistake made by a pro-Iranian political elite that did not consult with other political blocks in Iraq. He said that the decision, which gives the impression that the political elites side with Iran in the conflict between the U.S. and Iran, is not consistent with the interests of the Iraqi people, who he pointed out have been protesting in the streets against Iran for two months. Al-Ani said that the armed factions and militias in Iraq are a threat and that the Sunni provinces in Iraq still require international assistance in fighting terrorism because there are ISIS sleeper cells in these regions. He added: "We cannot expel international forces that have been fighting terrorism for years simply because of emotional pressure. This should make us concerned that terrorism will re-emerge."

Dhafer Al-Ani: "The political force that promoted today's decision [to expel U.S. forces] did not consult us or with the other political blocks. They pushed for a hasty decision that affects the fate of Iraq. This decision was made at a moment of crisis that has an emotional aspect. We believed, and still believe, that a decision of such magnitude should be thoroughly examined and that there should be national consensus on it. This was not the case today.

[...]

"I think that what happened in today's meeting was a big strategic mistake. This is not consistent with the interests of the Iraqi people, not only because this is a decision to expel the American forces, but also because the political elite that makes the decisions in Iraq today gave the impression that in the conflict between Iran and America, they side with Iran. This is the big mistake. Siding with a rogue state, a state that is considered by most of the international community to be an evil country that is trying to form an axis of evil... [Siding with Iran] would entangle the Iraqi people with an axis that does not serve its interests. I believe that this is the mistake. The second mistake which is perhaps even greater, is that the political elite in power has proven that it acts against the aspirations of the public. The public has been taking to the streets for two months, and there have been thousands of martyrs and wounded people. They have been chanting: 'Out with Iran!' yet today's decision, particularly in light of the political statements that accompanied the meeting in which the decision was made, indicates the exact opposite – that the political elite welcomes Iran's presence and influence, and sympathizes with Iran, in complete contradiction of the people's interests and aspirations.

[...]

"The democracy we have in Iraq is an 'armed democracy.' There are political parties that command tens of thousands of militants..."

Interviewer: "Democracy and weapons do not go hand-in-hand."

Dhafer Al-Ani: "Absolutely not. In addition, it seems that the state's security and military organs are weak compared to the infiltration of the armed factions and militias.

[...]

"If you recall, the mass graves that were recently discovered in Al-Anbar, Mosul, and other places were not created by the United States. They were created by these militias. I think that presenting the Americans as the big villains in Iraq sends the message that Iraq has joined the Iranian axis instead of the other axis.

[...]

"I think that the [Sunni] provinces still need international military aid and the international agreement to fight terrorism. There are still ISIS sleeper cells in these provinces, so we still need... We cannot expel international forces that have been fighting terrorism for years simply because of emotional pressure. This should make us concerned that terrorism will re-emerge."

Iraqi Media Hints Pro-Iran Militias Intimidating Staff Of U.S.-Funded Al-Hurra TV Following Soleimani Assassination; Misinformation Campaign Spreads False Statement Of Secretary Pompeo

January 10, 2020
Iran, Iraq | Special Dispatch No. 8486
In the aftermath of the U.S.-Iran escalation in Iraq, correspondents from the U.S.-funded Al-Hurra TV in Najaf and Baghdad announced on their social media accounts that they had submitted their resignations without providing reasons. Reports in Iraqi media have raised questions about the timing of these resignations, pointing out that the correspondents had been in their roles for over ten years and would therefore be unlikely to announce their resignations without giving an explanation. Raji Naseer, the Al-Hurra correspondent in Najaf, and Mouafaq Majid, the Al-Hurra correspondent in Baghdad, publicized their resignations on their Facebook accounts, leading to reports that link the resignations to possible threats they may have received from Shi'ite militias that often accuse the network of bias and defamation.[1] Mouafaq Majid's post on Facebook: "Thanks to my friend in Al-Hurra channel, I spent more than 10 years with you, I hope to see you in other chapters" (Source: Facebook.com) Raji Naseer's post on Facebook: "I resigned officially from Al-Hurra Channel" (Source: Facebook.com) This would not be the first time that employees of Al-Hurra TV have been threatened or acted against. In January 2019, Samer Ali Shakara, an Iraqi cameraman working for Al-Hurra, was found dead in a Baghdad suburb, having been shot in the head by unknown gunmen.[2] In September 2019, Iraq's Communications and Media Commission (CMC) suspended the license of Al-Hurra TV and shut down its local offices for three months after it ran an investigative report highlighting corruption within the Sunni and Shi'ite Muslim endowments – state bodies that administer religious sites and real estate – including foundations linked to Iraq's top Shi'ite cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani. It also said these religious bodies have ties to militias. Al-Hurra stood by their report in a statement, calling it "fair, balanced, and professional. And that individuals and institutions mentioned in the report were given the right of reply, which they declined." "Al-Hurra Investigates," a report questioning the corruption in Iraqi religious institutions that aired in August 2019.
