The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) released a statement calling on progressive groups in the United States to "take urgent action" against what it called a "repressive campaign against pro-Palestinian students and activists on American universities."

PFLP: Actions On US Universities "Reveals True Fascist Face Of US Trump Administration"

On March 10, 2025, the PFLP issued a statement on its website in which it accused the United States of waging what it called a "repressive campaign against pro-Palestinian students and activists" on American universities."[i] The statement was titled "The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Condemns the Repressive Assault on American Universities."

In the statement, the PFLP claimed that the Trump Administration's "repressive campaign" has "manifested in the arrest of a large number of students at Columbia University and other universities" and "has accompanied by threats to deport activists and revoke their residency permits" – a clear reference to the case of Mahmoud Khalil.

These actions, the statement added, "reveal the true fascist face of the US administration led by Trump, which has launched a campaign of persecution and repression against free voices exposing the crimes of the Zionist occupation."

The PFLP also noted that such actions "will not intimidate free people, nor will they deter courageous voices from continuing to support the Palestinian cause." "On the contrary," it said, "They confirm to the world the extent of the US administration's subservience to the Zionist entity and its efforts to silence every voice that opposes the war crimes and massacres committed against our people in Gaza and the West Bank and condemns direct US support for the Zionist genocide."

PFLP Calls On "Progressive Forces, Human Rights Organizations And Student Unions In The United States" To "Take Urgent Action"

In the statement, the PFLP also called on "progressive forces, human rights organizations, and student unions in the United States and around the world to take urgent action to expose this attack and support those detained and threatened with deportation." It further demanded that "international human rights organizations intervene immediately to halt these arbitrary measures," which, it claimed, "contravene the most basic principles of human rights and freedom of expression."

The statement concluded, noting: " Freedom for all detainees. Together against US-Zionist oppression."
