On September 29, 2024, Iran-backed Afghan Fatemiyoun Brigades released a statement eulogizing Hizbullah's slain leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in Israeli airstrikes on September 27 in Beirut. Praising the leader's "resilience" against Israel for over three decades, the statement said Nasrallah had attained the highest level of "martyrdom."[1]
"For more than three decades of standing against the brutal Zionist enemy, after years of tireless struggle, in a brutal attack of the Zionist regime, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah achieved the highest degree of martyrdom."
"The Assassination Made Us Stronger"
The Fatemiyoun Brigades further vowed to continue in the path of jihad towards freeing Al-Aqsa Mosque from the "Zionist entity," adding that the assassination of Hizbullah leaders and commanders did not break the resistance's spirits or will.
"Although the assassination of Hizbullah's resistance leader and several other commanders and fighters is considered a tragic and an irreparable loss, it did not break the resistance's determination," the statement read. Rather, the statement added, the deaths have doubled the fighter's willpower to eradicate Israel.
"Ready To Confront Israel"
Declaring full support for Lebanese Hizbullah, the statement emphasized the utmost readiness of the Fatemiyoun Brigades, among other resistance forces in the region, to confront the "usurping, oppressive, and evil Zionist regime."
The statement continued: "We are coming soon, just as we defeated Daesh, [i.e., ISIS, or the Islamic State] fighters, America's mercenary group and agents, we will resist the Zionist regime, the criminal and child-murderer. We will not forgive or forget the crime committed by them, and we aim to remove from this earth."
Glorifying Hamas's October 7 Attacks
The statement further marked the approaching one-year anniversary of Hamas's October 7, 2023, attacks against Israel, saying that the "Aqsa Flood will end the occupation."
It concluded: "The Zionist regime is facing a new phase of elimination due to the blessed Toofan [Flood] Al-Aqsa operation. We will be intertwined indefinitely and side by side with our Shi'ite and Sunni brothers in the Holy Quds [Jerusalem]. We call on the freedom-seekers to come and help us free Al-Aqsa."
