On May 17, 2021, Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), released on Telegram a video documenting "for the first time" its use of Al-Qassim rockets on Israeli targets near Gaza.[1]

In the two-minute video, the group claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on Israeli military gatherings on east Khan Younis on May 15, noting that an Al-Qassim rocket was used in the attack. The video also claimed that the same type of rocket was used in a May 14 attack on Israeli military gatherings in east Rafah.

Clips showed fighters preparing the rocket for launching and before hitting targets. One clip provided an infographic clip on the rocket, claiming it has a warhead filled with "400K/TNT and has 200 M range."
