Numerous neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and militia members use an alternative social media platform which has made headlines for its links to mass shooters and neo-Nazi terrorists. In 2022, a user of the site was arrested on hate crime charges in a large operation that included officers from seven law enforcement agencies and responders from two federal agencies. The user published numerous threatening and violent posts directed against the LGBTQ community on the site.

One of the platform's financial objectives is to create a parallel economy independent of major banks. Numerous businesses operate on its platform. Additionally, Bitcoin, checks, and major credit cards can be used to make donations and purchases in the site's store.
