A member of the European Parliament from Poland's far-right Confederation (Konfederacja) was removed from the chamber on January 29, 2025, after disrupting a session marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day. During a minute of silence honoring the Holocaust victims, he shouted remarks including, "Let's pray for the victims of the Jewish genocide in Gaza" and "Thank you everybody for praying." European Parliament President Roberta Metsola ejected the Polish MEP and received applause from the MEPs. Security escorted the representative out. This is the same MEP who extinguished a Chanuka menorah in the Polish parliament in December 2023 and stopped Polish Canadian holocaust historian Jan Grabowski's lecture in the Jewish Historical Institute (ŻIH) in May 2023. His behavior drew sharp condemnation from fellow lawmakers.
