Neo-Nazis And White Supremacists On Social Media React To U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland's Speech Announcing U.S. Government's National Strategy For Countering Domestic Terrorism

On June 15, 2021, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced President Biden's National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism. Following Garland's speech, neo-Nazis and white supremacists reacted online. The posts included incitement to violence against law enforcement. Others said that the strategy is part of the Jews' plan for "global domination."

On a social media discussion thread, a user shared a photo of a man who had been hanged and posted text threatening to kill law enforcement.

A member of a neo-Confederate, white supremacist group shared a video about Garland's speech and encouraged others to join militias.

A white supremacist social media account claimed that Garland and Biden had declared war on white people.

A social media account for a U.S. white supremacist group posted a video of Garland's speech calling for unification against the U.S. government.

A user shared an image of a known domestic terrorist and taunted law enforcement.

Another user expressed an interest in obtaining a Russian-made rifle.

One user threatened Jews.

Many users voiced support for his sentiments in the video's comment section. One user called for others to prepare their firearms.
