On August 4, 2024, Houthi armed forces spokesman Yahya Saree claimed that the Houthi armed forces have shot down an American MQ-9 Reaper drone in Yemen's Sadaa province, using a "locally manufactured" surface-to-air missile. The Houthis published a short video showing debris of the drone that was shot down.
The next day, the Houthis published an infographic listing dates and locations where U.S. MQ9 drones were downed. The infographic claimed a total of 11 drones downed, seven since the beginning of the Houthi campaign of support for Hamas's Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
