User Of Islamic State (ISIS)-Operated Rocket.Chat Directs Supporters To San Francisco-Based Internet Archive, Which Hosts More Than 20,000 ISIS-Related Items

On January 10, 2023, a user of the Islamic State (ISIS)-operated Rocket.Chat server posted a link to a search query on the San Francisco-based Internet Archive for the words "the Islamic State" in Arabic, recommending that others use to the link to find up to date ISIS-related content. The search produces a total of 20,093 results: 7,230 classified as images, 6,775 as movies, 3,091 as texts, 2,232 as audio, 727 as data, and 18 as software.

Although some of the items on the website appear to have been mislabeled as ISIS-related, the majority are authentic productions by ISIS' official media outlets and pro-ISIS media groups. This content includes claims of attacks, videos, magazines in Arabic and other languages, and translations of these materials from Arabic to other languages.
