On June 28, 2021, a Telegram channel that supports the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), an umbrella group for Iraqi Shi'ite militias, published photos of an Iranian drone used by the group. The channel wrote that the drone is equipped with very precise aerial bombs and long-distance flight capabilities, and "will enable the PMU to carry out intelligence missions and extensive combat missions." The channel also published a 30-second video clip showing various drones. The channel added the drones in the clip were not featured in the media coverage of the June 6 PMU military parade.

The PMU issued a statement denying reports about the weapons supposedly at its disposal, including the drones that were allegedly part of the June 6 parade. The statement claimed that such reports are "misleading" and are "intended to sow confusion and undermine the unity of the armed forces."

At recent PMU military parade, which took place on June 26, 2021, calls were heard against the U.S. and Israel, and in support of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and slain IRGC Qods Force commander Qassem Soleimani.
