On February 11, 2025, a Telegram channel reported that a Tajik hacker group hacked the Afghan Taliban's Defense Ministry website. Following the cyberattack, a message reading "Long live Ahmad Massoud and the brave warriors of Panjshir" appeared on the website's homepage. The Taliban's Ministry of Defense website remained inaccessible for about an hour after being hacked but was later restored.
