On January 12, 2018, a Syrian opposition Telegram channel posted a photo of a Russian drone that had been shot down by militants of the Nur Al-Din Al-Zangi movement. According to the channel, it was shot down with heavy machine guns "on the 'Atshan front" in the countryside north of Hama, Syria. ​
