Shumoukh Al-Islam Encourages The Use Of Facebook's Event Application To Disseminate Jihadi Productions

September 5, 2012

On September 5, 2012, "Barbaros," a member of the prominent jihadi forum Shumoukh Al-Islam, published a post encouraging Jihadis who are active on Facebook to make use of the event application to disseminate jihadi productions to a large audience. The post, rated by the forum's admins as a "distinguished topic," included images showing steps users should follow to publish materials by using the event application. According to the post, the "event" application is more practical in reaching out to thousands of people in a matter of seconds because friends can be invited, messages can be sent to the entire group, and publishing manually is time consuming and risks termination of the account.

Barbaros encouraged members to follow the instructions and urge their Facebook friends to repeat what was explained in the images. He emphasized the importance of making a large list of friends. The result, he concluded, is that the news would reach thousands of people in a matter of seconds, with Allah's help.
