On December 5, 2018, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, praised Iran's experts for enhancing the country's missile, air defense, and drone technology. Falahatpisheh said that Iranian specialists have manufactured state-of-the-art drones that are being used by the country's Armed Forces for various missions, despite U.S. sanctions.
In comments on December 4, Brig. Gen. Aziz Nasirzadeh, commander of the Iranian Air Force, said: "We are even ahead of the top world powers in the drones sector and we are way ahead of them," and underlined the country's plans to produce more advanced drones. The two men also commented on the country's advanced missile technology.
