On July 10, 2020 a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media outlet posted on an ISIS-operated Rocket.Chat that the social media platforms TikTok and LinkedIn are "spying on users." A commenter added that TikTok is based in China, and that any app made in China or Russia should not be trusted.
