Redhack Hackers Target Turkish Bank Over Soccer Game E-Ticketing

Members of the hacktivist collective RedHack claim to have breached the systems of Aktif Bank (aktifbank.com.tr), Turkey's largest privately owned investment bank. The attack comes just as the bank introduced a controversial and mandatory e-ticketing system for people attending soccer games.

The e-tickets allow the government to keep a close eye on people with the cards, and since soccer fans are known for their involvement in protests, authorities can monitor those who chant anti-government slogans at games. Aktif Bank gets a commission on each card purchased.

In addition to breaching the bank's systems, RedHack also launched a distributed denial-of-service attack against its website.
