Pro-ISIS Telegram Channel Posts Links To WhatsApp Group Chat With Strict Religious Conditions For Joining

On March 8, 2017, a pro-ISIS Telegram Channel posted a link to two pro-ISIS groups on the encrypted chat service WhatsApp. To access the groups, members must use the WhatsApp application on their phone to scan a QR code as part of the verification process.

The group also includes a religious test in order to be approved as a member of the group, which is to recite a prayer before stating the names of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (possibly in writing) or else "they will be kicked out of the group."
