On August 24, 2020, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Telegram bot posted a warning to supporters saying that the intelligence agencies of over 80 countries are working to identify and apprehend online ISIS supporters. The post advised pro-ISIS users to make use of Proton VPN and Avast antivirus; to check all links and files before downloading; to use separate devices for pro-ISIS activities and personal matters; to disable the device's camera, microphone, and GPS; to refrain from speaking on the phone about illegal activities, including explosives, weapons, and suicide missions.
