Pro-ISIS Posters: Telegram's Purge Of Supporter Accounts Is A Blessing; ISIS's Enemies Waste Resources In Futile Fight Against Media Jihad

September 17, 2021

A pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media outlet released two posters on the pro-ISIS rocket.chat server on September 14, 2021. One poster, titled "Stay at your post," included a quote attributed to slain Islamic State of Iraq leader Abu Hamzah Al-Muhajir, in which he stressed the importance of media jihad. The second poster was titled "Deletion of accounts is a blessing," a reference to the recent purge of pro-ISIS accounts on Telegram. The poster emphasized that the deletions will not stop ISIS supporters from waging media jihad, and that the efforts to ban them will only waste the time and money of ISIS's enemies. The poster went on to say that Twitter's attempts to remove the presence of pro-ISIS accounts seven years ago ultimately lead to a change in policy that harmed all Twitter users.
