On May 24, 2021, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media group announced that it will be launching Telegram bots dedicated to distributing phone numbers to supporters for the purposes of opening social media accounts, as well as for posting links to new pro-ISIS accounts, distributing graphics, and religious content.
