Pro-ISIS Media Group Claims Their Account On The Conversations App Was Hacked

August 6, 2021

On August 4, 2021, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Telegram bot published a message from a pro-ISIS media group, warning that the group's account on the Conversations messaging app has been hacked. The group emphasized that it is no longer in control of the account, and warned that the account was advertising a false Telegram account, claiming it belonged to the group.

The message then listed the group's two Telegram accounts as well as an account on the Element messaging platform, saying these are the only authentic accounts operated by the group. It is worth noting that earlier the same Telegram bot published a post with a similar warning, in which it vouched for the authenticity of the same Telegram account the group now claims is fake.
