On July 23, 2022, following a Turkish attack on a tourist site in northern Iraq that resulted in several civilian casualties, a Telegram channel which supports Iran-backed militias in Iraq published a poster depicting drones over Istanbul, with the text: "Istanbul not safe anymore." The Arabic text on the poster read: "The Islamic Resistance's aerial force is following Istanbul."
