On April 4, 2022, a pro Al-Qaeda media outlet released the third issue of its Wolves of Manhattan magazine, which is aimed at jihadis in the West. One of the articles in this issue is dedicated to maintaining information security on the Telegram messaging platform. The article advises users on how to secure their information on Telegram, while also warning against using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Whatsapp for jihadi activities, effectively encouraging the use of Telegram instead.
According to the article, there are several ways to secure one's information on Telegram, such as using fake phone numbers, using VPNs and proxies, and adjusting Telegram's privacy settings.
