Online Jihadis Increasingly Join Twitter After Realizing Its Potential In Portraying A 'Balanced Media'

On June 5, 2012, a message was posted on the Ansar Al-Mujahideen Arabic Forum (AMAF) announcing that "Asad Al-Jihad2," a prominent writer on jihadi forums, had accepted an invitation by fellow jihadis to open an account on Twitter (@AsadAljehad2). Asad Al-Jihad2's Twitter page Asad Al-Jihad2 follows a growing number of jihadis who appear to have realized Twitter's massive potential in conveying their narrative and communicating with fellow jihadis and non-jihadis alike.
