Online Activist Brings Message Of Jihad To Spanish-Speakers

March 14, 2013

The following document will provide a review of online jihad activism aimed at spreading propaganda to Spanish-speaking audience, both Muslims and non-Muslims. The document focuses on one online jihad activist who goes by the nickname Karim Al-Maghrebi.

This nickname likely points to Al-Maghrebi's origins being in Morocco, or elsewhere in North Africa. Al-Maghrebi is an active member of the two leading jihadi forums, Shumoukh Al-Islam and Al-Fida'. He describes himself on the forums as "a supporter of the global Al-Qaeda." He is also active in spreading jihadi propaganda on Twitter, where he uses the account name @Red_Alfidaa (Al-Fida' network).
