August 27, 2012
On August 26, 2012, "Ansar Al-Mujahedeen," a member of the leading jihadi forum Shumoukh Al-Islam, posted an item titled "Media Raid On Digital Outreach Team, Participation Is Mandatory," targeting the official YouTube channel of the U.S. State Department's Digital Outreach Team (DOT). His post, which claimed that the DOT consists of "professional liars," included a link to the channel (youtube.com/user/StateDepartment), YouTube's link to report abuse (youtube.com/reportabuse) and a YouTube video explaining how to use its report-abuse feature (youtube.com/watch?v=5pSXxvS6qJI).
