Nigerians Hackers Who Attempted To Blackmail White House Staffers To Be Extradited From UAE To U.S.

On April 3, 2017, it was reported that three Nigerian hackers who had attempted to blackmail five senior White House officials by compromising their email accounts had been arrested by Dubai Police. The hackers are to be extradited to the United States once they serve their jail term in the UAE. The hackers targeted individuals and the White House itself by hacking their accounts and emails to steal private documents and information in order to commit fraud and blackmail. The mastermind of the operation was identified as B.A.; two other suspects, identified as G.A. and A.A., were also apprehended. One police official said that it was a complicated operation, and they had hacked into hundreds of accounts of officials all around the world.
