On September 23, 2016, it was reported that Ardit Ferizi, aka Th3Dir3ctorY, the hacker from Kosovo who handed over personal data on 1,351 U.S. government and military personnel to ISIS hacker Junaid Hussain, had been sentenced to 20 years in prison. The stolen data included names, email addresses, passwords, locations and phone numbers.

According to recent court filings, Ferizi began his support for ISIS by administering a website that hosted ISIS videos, Penvid.com, which included a drop-down menu with the name of ISIS' online English-language magazine "Dabiq." According to the document, Ferizi received numerous messages on Twitter from people questioning why he was administering a pro-ISIS website. Ferizi justified it by saying that ISIS "never kill [sic] someone without a reason," and stated that the leaking of personally identifiable information of U.S. service members was justified because the U.S. military "killed peoples [sic] in Iraq and Syria."
