On July 31, 2019, a jihadi Telegram channel with over 1,100 members solicited donations for "needy in Shaam from our generous brothers & sisters who are outside Syria." The channel wrote: "Have no doubt about us, if you have any then check our previous contents or message us for evidence/proof. You can donate via: Western Union or PayPal or Bitcoin (most secure and safe in-sha-Allah)."
