On March 13, 2020, an Islamic State (ISIS) supporter posted to a pro-ISIS Rocket.Chat channel asking for advice on how to obtain a disposable telephone number with which to run a Telegram account and channel. Another ISIS-supporter on the channel responded that it is best practice to buy a telephone number online using bitcoin, and that the free options are "very limited."
