ISIS Supporters Discuss Online Safety Precautions On Encrypted Server

June 19, 2023

A user of the Islamic State (ISIS)-operated Rocket.Chat server asked how to protect himself online. One user replied, recommending the use of a virtual private network (VPN), only accessing webpages beginning with "HTTPS://", never opening malicious links, and never using personal information. He added an explanation saying that "HTTPS://" is a secure protocol for opening websites.

The original poster responded, saying he employs all these measures, and is seeking additional tips. Another user recommended downloading the encrypted TOR browser. A fourth user cautioned that even with safety precautions, using the internet is never completely secure.
