On September 17, 2021, a user of Rocket.Chat, operated by the Islamic State (ISIS), asked supporters for links to pro-ISIS groups on the Briar encrypted software. Another user noted that a pro-ISIS foundation published a video tutorial about Briar and posted a link to it.
