The Aerospace Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a new drone, called the Shahed-149 "Gaza" drone, during a military exercise in late January, 2025. In addition, as part of ongoing Iranian Navy drills in the Persian Gulf, domestic drones were successfully used to launch missiles equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.[1]

The "Gaza" drone has a 21-meter wingspan and payload capacity of 500 kg. It has a cruising speed of 215 km/h, can fly up to 35 hours, and can reach an altitude of 35,000 feet. Its operational range spans 4,000 km, and it can strike targets within a 1,000-km radius. It is equipped with Sadid-345 precision glide bombs, allowing it to strike moving and stationary targets. The bombs feature GPS navigation and electro-optical guidance systems.
