May 18, 2017
On May 16, 2017, it was reported that Russian hackers may have been involved in an attempt by Iranian hackers to hack into the network of a U.S. military contractor, as the Iranians were using a toolset that belonged to a Russian mercenary hacker who hacked Ukraine in 2015 and shut down parts of the country's power grid. The Iranian hackers involved in the attack were part of a group called OilRig, which previously hacked oil companies in Saudi Arabia and Israel before targeting military, financial and energy companies in Europe and the U.S. Source: iranfocus.com, May 16, 2017
